Re: 32" model# F32668
The F32668 uses the CTC203 series chassis and I usually see 2 problems when the set will not run. The first is poor solder joints on a small coil near the horizontal output transistor, but if thats the case the set tends to run for a while and randomly shut off. When the set clicks and never runs I usually find that the flyback (high voltage) transformer has shorted out inside. In this case the flyback should be replaced by an experienced tech.

I had the same problem with my tv, same make and model. I first continuously turn on and off my tv manually until I could get some kind of picture. This procedure took maybe five minutes. I was able to get a fine picture and sound, as if it was brand new! Other things to keep in mind, try to eliminate dust build up as much as possible.. Hope this helps out...
clicking,w/no sound or pix is usually IHVT,
AKA flyback transformer.Please clarify size
and model #. Include last three characters in
Thomson products service #---Ex.=F36665-YX01.
check the vertical section thats small parts like resistor 19k or 22k that all resistor is change value or check all the small capacitor around the vertical section.
I HAVE THE SAME TV WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I'M NO TECHNICIAN BUT I TOOK THE BACK OFF AND DISCONNECTED THE CIRCUIT BOARD THAT CONTROLS THE REMOTE SENSOR AND THE BUTTONS. THE TV STOPPED FLIPPING BY ITSELF. I'M CURRENTLY TRYING TO FIND A REPLACEMENT PART.
This may be a power supply problem or a shorted horizontal output transistor shorted.
The clicking sound is the power supply trying
to start but can't because of the overload.

If you had a burning smell, well the board is toast. These sets are made to replace the entire board at one time. Before installing the replacement module, the picture tube should be checked. A defective picture tube ( such as a G1 short) may cause a failure in the power supply section.
