The most common reason for the system not reading discs is a bad drive. The following website sells the drives and does installs:
store.richspsxparts.com/wiiredvddr
This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your games, or issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your system including a new laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your system going again! Hope this will help....
Sounds like the mounting spindle is out of alignment, meaning the disks you load into the player are not spinning in a balanced, stable position. Without this being the case the laser pickup will not be able to read the disk and the unbalanced disk will cause a noisy hum and you may even be able to feel vibration in the player itself to confirm this. Sometimes the noise and vibration is a disks fault but if it occurs on any disk you insert (and can confirm the same disks work ok with no noise in other DVD players) it will be the players mounting mechanisim that is not playing the game properly I suspect.
you can try manually cleaning the laser lens ( gently wipe , do not press down hard , it is suspended by fine wires ) using a q-tip and a drop of that cleaning solution you got with the laser lens disc. ( fluff another q-tip a little ) then dry wipe it with another q-tip and try a disc.
you can look at the laser lens and see if you see the laser come on also to determine if that is working ( do not look directly into the laser ! )
if the laser works but it still does not read discs after cleaning it manually , then there is a problem with the focus coil on the laser or the signal board is bad

If
the unit is showing "invalid disk" on every disk that you try to play,
unfortunately, the unit has developed a defect and needs to be
replaced. Our warranty is 90 days from the date of purchase. If you've
had the player longer than 90 days, I regret to inform you it is out of
warranty.
If you feel this solution doesn't deserve a good
rating, please let me know why so that I may better assist you. If
there is anything more I can do to help, I will!
It has no region code .You can download anydvd at slysoft.com
AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive aslo removing the region code.
If the region setting is correct and won't even read a cleaning disc, there's not much you can do. Either the DVD drive or the Main board (aka MPEG board) is faulty and will have to get it repaired. I'm not sure about UK, but in Australia, Bush manufacturing warranty period for DVD players is 12 months.
