SOURCE: Aquatronics Radio MS1550G 4X40W

I have an Aquatronics MS1550G radio on my 2006 Suntracker. The radio speakers have sound, but the sound is barely audible. I have used the reset button with no success. Is there a quick fix to this problems?

Radio model plcdbt65mrw.. I replaced this radio in my boat with the existing.. did wire for wire.. Excessive static coming thru speakers.. what can I check..? thanks mike

There are many possible reasons. Few pointers.
Disconnect antenna and check for static. If it is still there then turn off everything on boat , including battery charger and check for static. If is gone then start turning on electrical devices to narrow what is causing electromagnetic interferencw. If your still have static then disconnect all speakers right on stereo harness. Start connecting speaker to individual output to check for static. If there is no static then one of speaker wire installed on boat is shorted somewhere. If you have static when connecting speaker straight to stereo harness then likely internal ampflier inside stereo is a problem

Follow instructions for wiring up speakers. If you don't have instructions https://soundcertified.com/speaker-wiring-diagram-guide should help Now, turn off the radio Double check your power source and wiring to find a short from the battery to the radio. Turn on the radio to see if it is now ok. I am almost 100% sure you have a short somewhere between your battery and radio. Make sure you have the pos. and neg.wires in the right place.

without more detailed info, quick suggestion - thermal fault, if all TX audio works when in this fault condition, it may be fair to assume audio IC is ok and check electrolytic capacitors and dry joints.

Try using non-ethanol gas. It's death on small engines. Starter fluid gives it a boost if higher octane. Have a reputable repair place clean out the gunk, then use good gas. Best of luck finding non-ethanol. Boating marinas carry it.

Radio shutting down after 60 minutes

Hello peter79,

Ive had similar problems with my radio on my sailboat.

This really depends on how you have your radio housed. Is it inside a cabinet, or perhaps sealed in a water tight enclosure ? Is it in the cockpit of the boat or inside the cabin ?

The reason I am asking these questions is because I believe your problem is heat related. If the unit is getting overheated after an hour of use it will shut itself down to cool off. I imagine it starts working fine again after a little while.

The only solution is to make sure it is getting proper ventilation and that you also protect it from the elements. You may even look into buying a Marine Stereo as they will last a lot longer on a boat.

Post back with any answers or anymore info so that I can be of further assistance. Thank you for choosing Fixya!

On your Cinego remote, push the setup button (bottom row, second from the right). Using your number keys and their corresponding arrows (7, 0, 9, 5), move to management, and then down to "lamp reset." Push enter (8) and follow the prompts. Always be sure to use Economy Mode (top of the management list) each time you turn on the Cinego to drastically increase your lamp life.

Hello LJones0455. From your detailed attempts there are few options. Position the transducers one foward one aft. Connect the negitives of the battiers to the boat still route both positive & negitive wiring to all devices. Check the continunity of your transducers include flexing while ohming. Let me know of the results.
