My Epson CX6600 has a tiny piece of paper blocking the works

Posted by neurokinetic on Mar 13, 2009

A tiny piece of paper is blocking this working, but the carriage holding the ink cartridges slides into the way when I try to remove it.

I LOVE THIS PRINTER--It uses waterproof ink and doesn't use it up instantly like the newer models. It does it all...sigh...until this tiny piece of paper got in there.

I took off many of the elements, unscrewed them, but was unable to figure out removing the ink cartidge carriage or how to stop it sliding back and forth.

    Hey,

This idea of pulling out the plug (power lead) to immobilize the ink carriage was GREAT!!! I finally weasled out what turned out to be a larger piece of paper.

Printer and artist reunited...cheaper inks had by all! Felicia

Turn on the printer, when the carriage moves across to the left just pull the power lead out. Open the top and simply move the carriage out of the way to get at the paper. Push the carriage back to the parked position (fully to the right) before reconnecting and switching back on.

Check that all the access doors and compartments are closed correctly.
Check paper isn't jammed.
Take out the all the ink cartilages and reset them in correctly
Make sure the rollers are set in place correctly, (if there removable)

Epson dfx9000 it gives me paper jam

Hi there,
My epson printer showed a paper jam light although no paper was visible.
I discovered my son had had a paper jammed and ripped the paper out and a tiny piece was jammed inside but was not visible easily.
***NO RESPONSIBILITY ACCEPTED FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE IF YOU USE THIS SOLUTION I USED TO FIX MY PRINTER*********
i cut an A4 sized square of cardboard from a cereal packet.
I inserted this instead of paper and attempted to use the feed paper button to eject the paper jam.
This did not initially work so as i kept pressing the paper feed button i forced the cardboard into the printer in the same direction that the paper feeds whilst printing.
The cardboard pushed the tiny piece of paper out.
Turn off the printer and then turn back on - you should find the printer now works.
I also found it helpful to clean the feed path and to try and keep dust from settling in the printer.
If it is in a dusty environment it helps to keep the printer covered when not in use - you can buy plastic covers for this or any large plastic will do but does not look as aesthetically pleasing.
Hope this has helped.

When i press print, the goes through the motoins but nothing is printed on the piece of paper, and there is plenty of ink the catridges, any ideas??????

Hi with your Epson machine normally its the print head that has dried up and the ink is not able to get on to the paper have you used the head cleaning on the machine? this can help and some people claim that using head cleaning liquid works (I have not found them to be much use)
if you have tried all the above then its down to replacing the print heads and this is not for the DIY person and in the Uk it usually not an economical repair
sorry Ian

My cx6600 has a paper jam and can't seem to get it to get it un jammed

if you have kids, then you may have something such as a band-aid or such stuck in the rollers, try using a 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of poster paper and run it thru the machine to get it (or other things like bottle caps) unstuck.
