My remote will not work with my TV (Mitsubishi WD52631). The remote had been working fine. The remote appears to be functioning and the batteries are ok. I've reset the TV and the remote using code 00935 and tried code 00936 and neither will resolve the problem...help!

1. Clean the area where the TV receives the signal from the remote with a wipe.
2. Try fresh batteries in the remote.
3. Try another remote.
4. Research if you can obtain the reception module in the TV. Sometimes they are a separate plug in card.
You should reprogram your remote. Start with the tv on. You have got to find a code that will operate all of the functions you want it to. In others some code will only turn on the tv. Some codes will work with volume and the channels. Once you find a code that works you should be able to operate the tv with the remote. It sounds like to me when you put new batteries you erased the function of your mitsbishi remote. So once the tv turns off you have found your code.. but make sure before you save it you write down on something; and, it works all of the functions that you want it to. I hope that this helps a ton...
Oddly the Closed Caption function in that set is accessed with the remote by pushing the VIDEO button which cycles through contrast, brightness, tint, color and eventually to CC. You don't need the factory remote just one of those generics specific to operating a Mitsubishi tv. Just google Mitsubishi remote and you'll find some relatively cheap that work fine.
There is usually a remote module mounted on the inside of the front of the tv that senses the remote signal. This controls all functions of the tv. If you are not comfortable in troubleshooting this, I would recommend a repair center.
The remote is not the problem. The switch for volume up on the control panel has become leaky. Very common problem for this generation Mitsubishi. If you don't mind not having the control panel working you can disconnect it and the set will work just fine with the remote. To disconnect the control panel pull the speaker grill, it just snaps off, and remove the front access panel. Once that is done you'll see a cable going to the switches just disconnect it.
Im not at home right now so I can not get the exact part number but you need the powersupply for this set. There are numerous bad capacitors on this board and you might have a blown main on here. Replacing this will repair your set back to working condition.
Take out the batteries or simply reprogram the remote by using the manual search function on the remote. There is probably a couple of different settings in the remote for this type of TV set, Good Luck
No the crystal is fine, but thanks!
