Normally you cant set mp3 ringtones in 6600.It is not supported in it. But dont worry!!!!!!!!There are some softwareswhich can help you. Install VIKING MP3 PLAYER AND IF REQUIRED- MP3-OGG-WMA plugins also. Else you can install a software called ogg- player with mp3 plugins.
for pc not recognizing-
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
Do you have the software disc to the mp3 player? If you do have the software disc install it on your computer and try to detect it through the program the installs from the disc.If you do not have the software disc try going into yahoo or google and type the brand and model number of the mp3 device with the word software (example: samsung YP-K3 software)
