Question about American Pro VS-1466 Car Equalizer

1 Answer

Ok....well i dont exactly know why my equalizer isnt turning on......

Basically i attached the red (12v in) to the same power as my car stereo so i didnt have to make another hole in the firewall of my truck, and i put the black (ground as everybody knows) to a ground in my truck that was already there. and the light for the power dosnt come on when the stereo comes on...which is in the accesory position with the ignition switch....i dont exactly know where to put the orange (it says remote) which i know what a remote wire does...which is turn it on remotely when everything else turns on....because i have no remote wire in my truck that i have found......if anyone knows where i can find the manual for this thing or knows what im doing wrong please by all means contact me. my email is [email protected] need an answer really bad cuz my whole stereo is in pieces right now and im driving around in it w/o music. also if it helps my truck is a 1988 f150 xlt lariat. thanks

If you have an amp in your truck, try and use the same remote wire that runs from your head unit to the amp.

Why won't my JVC KD-HDR car stereo turn on?

Has it ever worked before? If not, this could be a basic install issue. To bench test, combine red and yellow and run to 12V positive and Black to 12V negative to see if it powers up.

I replaced my ignition switch in my 98 k2 jetta and after my stereo won't turn on but will eject cds and insert them?

The red wire from the stereo is 12v signal, basically when you turn the key on it send 12v to the red wire to make your stereo come on. Everything else is fine since you can insert and eject cds. You may have pulled the signal wire loose when you changed the ignition switch, check the wires behind the radio and the wires to the ignition switch.

I installed an older used stereo. I found the red wire is power, the black is ground, What is the yellow wire with the 5amp in line fuse for

The Yellow is your Ignition wire, It controls the stereo power when the vehicle is on/off. It can be spliced with the red wire, however I wouldn't suggest it unless all other options have been used.

Hi . . my alpine stereo wont work unless the yellow and red wires are put in the same terminal . . due to this the memory wipes every time i turn it off . . what am i doing wrong . . i`m at my wits end...

the red wire needs to be connected directly to the battery postive/red lead. you may have to run a wire from the battery, through a hole drilled in the firewall, into the red lead on the back of the stereo. it is suggested that you use a fuse, but is not necessary, as close to the battery as possible.

I plugged the car stereo and it looks like has power. A red light is on and I can put a CD on it and take it out but the rest doesn't work.no lights, no sound, nothing. It could be broken or just wrong...

most likely an internal problem but check the wires first, the yellow off the radio should be the 12 v ignition and the red should be the 12v constant, black ground of course, also if you had wires you didnt need to hook up make sure they aren't by accident

Stereo wiring 98 saturn

That stereo is now most likely dead. speaker wires are mostly green/black stripe, white/b s, grey/b s and violet/b s. ground is black and power are red and yellow.

CAR STEREO AND CLOCK DONT WORK, LOCATION OF FUSE 25

You are correct on checking the sterio, just 12+ and ground to see if it powers up. Fuse 25, in your fuse box should be numbered. If not, just pull them one at a time to see which one got fried.

Pioneer deh 1600 has no power

just run both red and yellow to 12v ...

well put the red on a constant 12v source then
yellow you need to put on a 12v source that comes on and off with key ..

yellow wire can go to the fuse box and take a non-using fuse out and put wire in it and should have power .. ..

i would recommend to locate the cars original wires tho ..

i am no pro iam just an average joe but i kno from installing stereos in many many cars .. ive done hack jobs to comp ..

hope this may help you
