I have a Bushnell Banner Astro 280 Model 78-5500 and am unable to see anything through it. When my son was younger he use to trade out items around the house, the little bugger, to make his own creations and he may have taken something out???? Anyhoo, there is what appears to be a lens about 4 inches inside the objective hood, shouldn't there be something at the end of the hood too?? If so, where can I obtain a lens?? It was in storage and we just got it out to see what we can see in our great Montana skies.
Thanks!
You need a "diagonal" and an eyepiece on the "small end" of the telescope-- where the focus knobs are located.
Do you have these pieces? If you do put the eyepiece with the LARGEST number written on it into the diagonal and then put the diagonal into the telescope. The bigger the number the LESS magnification.
Go outside during the day and practice focusing on a distant object at least 100 yards away --- the lower magnification helps you learn how to focus.
