Could be but before that check if settings are working. Set the freezer settings to coolest and see if cools. If ok, set to desired temp.

KitchenAid KSSC42FJS00 not cooling

Have you checked the condenser as i never seen this fridge but it if it has a fan cool condenser and it may need cleaning this will make a difference. Also worst case it maybe short of gas when it is running check the suction side pipe that goes into the compressor it shouldn't be to hot if so maybe it is short. As im Aussie i don't see this monster of a fridge but i hope this helps.

Sub zero 532. freezer works fine --0 degrees. fridge wont get below 50 degrees. cleaned condenser fins- still no decrease in temp

check the fan that runs between the freezer and the fridge --check fan for ice blockage -debris-or damage / clean or clear blockage --if not running test wiring and connections as well as motor /repair or replace //also check fan damper is not frozen or blocked its flap that opens and closes for air to flow //----ur fridge side is cooled from the the freezer side the cold air is blown in from the freezer if fan or damper is not working correctly than fridge is usually warm and freezer is working properly

Both Freezer & Fridge compartments not cooling

clean the coil behind the fridge or under the fridge (where ever they are) and make sure both fans are running, the one in the freezer and the one underneath. If that don't work you may be low on freon change fan motor

Refigerator not cooling and hot to the touch

It sounds a lot like lost charge caused by a leak in your system. If your unit has been moved or improperly cleaned, some part of the pressurized system may be damaged.
Refrigerant (with very small molecules) may leak off over many years but it shouldn't happen in the single digits.

Fridge running but not cooling

Sounds like you're low on gas...assuming that the condenser coils are clean.

Not cooling after smoke damage

Assuming that the motor is running, my best guess would be that the condenser (a large grid of thin piping) was covered in soot, and should be THOUROUGHLY cleaned, preferably with compressed air.... The condenser will either be underneath the unit, behind a small panel in the front bottom of the unit, or at the back behind a cover at the bottom of the fridge which runs the whoile width. Make sure the fan at the back near the compressor is also running....if the condenser fan is not running when the compressor is running, it won't cool. If the condenser is excessively dirty, it won't cool!
