Question about Panasonic CT-32D11 32" TV
The screen is totally black with a 6" wide horizontal gray area and in the middle of the gray area there is a bright thin horizontal line. No sound. When I use the remote part of the menu will appear and the words are upside down. What might the problem be and what should I do?
Your vertical output IC has stopped working. This is usually caused by the solder joints cracking loose and the IC will either short out inside or just stop working. Sometimes a small capacitor next to the IC, called the pump-up cap, will go bad and cause the IC to fail. In any case, the vertical output IC should be resoldered or replaced and all circuits checked by someone experienced in repairing TV's.
