It is a defrost heater or defrost timer or thermostat issue. I have the same fridge and just paid a repairman to tell me that it needs the heater and thermostat replaced. I wasn't willing to spend the almost $400 for a 16+yr old fridge with no guarantee that more won't go wrong.

COULD HAVE A DEFROST PROBLEM CHECK DEFROST TIMER HEATER LIMITER AND FAN . BUT YOU COULD HAVE THE CONTROL TO ALLOW MORE COLD AIR INTO THE FOOD CAPARTMENT CLOSED SET BOTH CONTROLS HALF WAY FIRST AND THEN SEE IF THAT HELPS

Back of freezer has frost and freezer wont cool to proper temp. icemaker etc also not working
Did you leave the freezer door open for a period of time while the refrigerator was running? Unplug and defrost the freezer manually with a hair dryer until all frost is removed inside and in back of the freezer. Reapply power and see if it will then cool/freeze properly. Let me know the results

all the cooling comes from the freezer. a fan pushes 20% of the air over into the fresh side.look for something blocking the airflow into fresh side. also check for defrost malfunction(is there frost buildup in the freezer on back wall towards the bottom.
