Question about LG DU-42PX12XC 42 in. Plasma HDTV
I experienced a similiar issue. I have a 1" red bar running vertically about 4" from the right side. After several hours of troubleshooting, I called LG. They recommended I take it to an authorized LG service provider. They attempted to fix the issue with a replacement board. (not sure which one) No resolution. I was then informed that the issue was with the display panel and to replace that was not cost effective. Basically buy a new TV. The TV is only 27 months old and of course out of warranty. I called LG to voice my disgust with a $3K product that is dead at 27 months. ($3K when purchased) With proof of purchase they quickly extended my warranty one time for parts and labor. They redeemed a little of my faith in LG with that gesture. I haven't received the TV back yet. Fingerscrossed......

As you said, this is a scan problem, but maybe not from the 'board' itself but maybe the flex cable. sometimes it becomes loose and it makes a bad connection between the panel and the board. if the tv is under waranty: please call LG service customer they are very friendly and thay can give you a reference number that will get you a free repair in an authorized LG service center... anyway thats the way we work around here (qu?bec, canada). let me know

Thanks for all the input I have received. I bought the TV at Best Buy and bought an extended warranty. The technician came out and said it was a 'buffer' problem and that he will order a part (assume board) to fix it. So far no fix. Stay tuned.
red vertical bar.. .have the same problem on a 3 yr LG. what was your solution?
