Question about Numark TTX1 Turntable

1 Answer

Both decks with same problem.

Both my TTX1's have stopped working. both decks just stopped spinning within a few weeks of each other. when the problem started I could press the stop/start button and then give them a push to get them going. But now they just dont move at all! I guessed it has something to do with the magnet inside? any help appreciated! thanks..

Nothing to do with the magnet. These are direct drive turntables, and more than likely one of the ICs shorted. Unusual that both shorted out at the same time, so the only thing I could suspect is a faulty power source - make sure all of your cables are free of any exposure to the inner power cable. Also, you might want to invest in a good surge protector (in the $150 range) to protect these babies... I know they aren't cheap. You will need to get them professionally serviced, there are no user replaceable parts inside. If you can't find anyone near you to service these, our company offers free return shipping for all Nationwide service, and if your in NYC, we offer free pick up. Oh, and we are masters with DJ turntables. Unfortunately, I don't think we can post our company information here, as I do not want to violate any agreements. So, with that said, do a search using the REPAIR SERVICE search option in FIXYA.com and go to the following section-> HOME AUDIO -> Audio Shelf Systems - we are listed there.

My numark ttx1 turntable keeps spinning fast? how can i fix it? can it be fixed?

I believe it's the Speed sensor inside the motor drive case. The Part number on my sesor is Sharp 1A35R. It's a sensor that tracks the platter speed. If I replace the whole motor PCB with a good one then the turntable works just fine. I ordered a couple 1A35R from Ebay and hopefully that will solve the problem.

Numak ttx1 turntable

If they are belt drive then you can get replacement belts from **** Smith Electronics for under 30 dollars if they are direct drive then you could check the fuses if its not either of these you might have to replace the motors which is quite inexpensive anyway

TTX1 went wacky

These are drive issues. More than likely one of the drive IC's failed. This will have to be repaired professionally.

CD Changer spinning continually

i have the same exact problem with mine. what i did was manually pull open the cd deck, stop the disk carousel from spninning by holding it still, then push the deck closed. the cd deck will no longer work, but at least it stops spinning. the auxiliary works fine and so does the radio.
