Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-42WE655 42" Rear Projection HDTV
I agree with you, because if the lamp is bad then the set will still try turning on and the red light will come on in front. There is no circuit breaker but there is a small glass fuse. Follow the AC power cord and where it connects into the power supply board there should be a glass fuse. You can try replacing that fuse but if that does not fix it then have the set serviced by a different shop.

That's a good suggestion. Thank you.
I am just wondering whether I want to go through the pain of removing the back panel to chase the AP power cord all they way to the fuse... But it could be fun!
The Sony just went black. We found the surge bar light was out. We checked to find the bar was defective. We replaced it with a new one but still no power. The cable light does come on when we press the power button on the remote, but it does not turn on the TV.
