No power I unplugged my TV to do a power cycle. When I plugged the TV back on nothing happen. I don't even get the standby red light on. Sony said I need to take it to a repairt shop. At the repair shop I was told that it could be the lamp and they have a 3-week wait. To me it sounded like a load of cr**. I thought that if the lamp was burned, I should at least get some power to the TV, but I get nothing. I removed the lamp myself, inspectioned it and it looks fine. I think it is the power supply unit. Shouldn't there be a circuit breaker somewhere inside? Does anybody have any suggestion?

That's a good suggestion. Thank you.
I am just wondering whether I want to go through the pain of removing the back panel to chase the AP power cord all they way to the fuse... But it could be fun!

The Sony just went black. We found the surge bar light was out. We checked to find the bar was defective. We replaced it with a new one but still no power. The cable light does come on when we press the power button on the remote, but it does not turn on the TV.

I agree with you, because if the lamp is bad then the set will still try turning on and the red light will come on in front. There is no circuit breaker but there is a small glass fuse. Follow the AC power cord and where it connects into the power supply board there should be a glass fuse. You can try replacing that fuse but if that does not fix it then have the set serviced by a different shop.

I have a 55” RCA tv that I just replaced the t-con board on, now I can not get it to turn on. I have the red standby light then I’ll hit the power button on the side and nothing will happen I can’t even...

Make certain you got the right T-Con board for the job. And check the connections of the board. You might have pulled out a plug by mistake or not fitted one back. It's easily done!

Hi I have a Sony fwd-50px1. It's plugged into the wall and without hitting the power on the TV the red standby light is on, as it should be. Now I press power on the TV itself and nothing happens. No...

Try unplugging and plugging the tv back in. Could also be a problem with the power button itself. Make sure the membrane contacts are clean and that the membrane is making contact with the contacts.

AKAI 32" LCD HDTV WILL NOT TURN ON

The only solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
I service these power supplies, for more info write to [email protected]
