Hello,
Every time I get a message, there's a little envelope icon on the top showing me to check my text message box..
Once it reaches its limit, the envelop will flash telling me to empty my box..
Now I have no text message in my box and the envelop is still there and it won't go away..
Same for the bell icon representing alarm..when I cancel my alarm calls..the bell remains also..
Please help me..it's annoying..

Envelope usually indicated a text message. Usually, if you have unread text messages your little envelope will have a number one or number two, etc in red on it.
You will need to go to your text message icon to open your text message screen.. It might be called *Inbox* but it's not email only text or SMS messages.
for sending text messages : 1.go to your message settings and check the message center number to see if it is correct 2. call to your network operator customer care 3. request the message center number... 4.note it down 5. go to message settings>message center number 6. insert the number which is noted by you and save it
This is all I can think of. Is there any chance that your text color is set to white?
The way to check the text color setting is to click on the text icon (a capital T with a box around it). And then click on the little color palette icon and check to see what color is selected.
Also changes in settings some times require you to close and open a window to take effect.
There could be a software issue here... Although that little envelope icon also is displayed for unopened text messages. With that said, there may be a text somewhere that you did not open and thought you did. You may want to run through your text messages and see if any of them are unopened.
This icon indicates that the SIM card's own text message storage is
full. This doesn't actually cause problems on the 5800 because it stores
its messages in the phone's own memory, but the envelope can look a bit
annoying.
To get rid of the flashing envelope:
1. On the standby screen press the white menu button.
2. Select "Messaging"
3. Select "Options"
4. Select "SIM Messages"
5. Delete some or all of the messages from the SIM messages folder using the Options menu.
There could be a message you looked at and backed out of and it's still being seen as new... Scroll through all of you messages and give it a look...
Good Luck
Found the answer!
"The icon is for a web alert. Go
to your message section and go to the web alerts section. It will open
up to the message where you will be able to download your ringtone."
Its in the web alerts! Never thought to check there...
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I had the same problem. I checked the browser messages and sure enough the phone co had sent me something out. I am so relieved. I knew I could find a solution on the internet!! :-)
