RCA HD61LPW42 runs for an hour then pic goes out for a minute and comes back
About four weeks ago, I had the tv on for about 2 hours and suddenly the picture started having bright white flashes in it and then the fan died down and picture went to black (still had sound). I waited for about a minute and then the wound back up and picture came back on. Worked great for about 15 minutes and then did the same. Since then this is what it continues to do. If I turn it off before the pic goes out and leave it off for about ten minutes, I can view for about 30 minutes before it starts happening again. RCA tech said it was my bulb. I replaced it and it still does it. Please help!

Red light comes on but then the tv is playing but after about 3 hours it just goes out but I can still hear the sound then if I go back after about 4 to 5 hours if I turn it on it plays no problem. Now the lamp just went. I think before replacing the lamp maybe I should replace cooling fan also.
hey mcd5brady, what was the solution to your last problem w the tv? ( replaced bulb and ballast but still no picture) my tv has same problem and dont know what to do next. any info on a solution would be greatly appreciated! post back or email. [email protected]
What the problem is here is you have a bad power supply or you need to do a hard reboot. On this tv to reboot you need to unplug it from the wall and leave it unplugged for about four hours if not you need a power supply
How about the fan? I had a problem where the picture would not come on for a while and I noticed the fan speed fluctuating. There must be some saftey that keeps the bulb off if the fan isn't running. When I finally had to replace the bulb, the problem ceased.
