This suggestion pointed me in the right direction. I have a 10 year old Philips 27 inch and wanted to add the cable channels. It was a used tv and first I checked cable and it said no, I changed no to yes, and then went to the autoprogram, and all the channels for cable were set. Thanks very much.

I have a Philips tv model 42FD9954/69c but it doesn't have a remote so I cant turn it on how do you get it to work with a universal remote ?!

Most TVs have controls on the side of the TV to operate power, volume and channels, if the power button puts it to standby then use the Chanel up or down to turn it on! Depending on the universal remote being used just select the code relevant to the make of TV you are connecting to!

to a Stereo to Mono adapter. Then plug

the single end of the adapter to the

Audio In (white) jack on the FRONT

of the television.

For Mono Devices: Connect one end

of the audio cable from the Audio Out

jack on the device to the Audio In
(white) jack on the FRONT of the television

3 Turn the TV and the accessory device

ON.

4 Press the AV button on the remote

control to tune the TV to the side input

jacks. "Front" will appear on the TV

screen.

5 Press the PLAY button on the

accessory device to view playback, or

to access the accessory device (camera,
gaming unit, etc.).

Repeatedly pressing the AV button on the

remote control will toggle the picture source

from the current channel, or Front input

Remote such automaticaly

Looks like a jammed "channel up" (P+ , CH+ or similar) button on your remote. Try disassembling the remote and cleaning the rubber pads with some ethyl alcohol and cottonwool. Also clean the pads on the circuit board which come in contact with the buttons pressed.

If your TV set has channel up/down buttons on the front panel, it could be that one of these is jammed instead (could also be something else, i just suggested the most likely solution i could think of).

I hope this helps somehow...

BEKO TRW325 TV. Frozen on chanel 1.

I turned the TV off. I held in all of the (4) buttons on the front of the TV and turned the TV back on again....this seemed to free up the remote control access and I was able to work the TV normally. The four buttons were the channel and the volume controls.

Help

you'll need to bring up the menu, under "channels" or "set-up" you will find something called autotune (or manual channel set-up). it will automatically set the channels you pick up.

Phillips PC7225 Menu

Found it!
I have a Philips universal remote. After trying half of the codes for Philips TVs, I came up with one which allowed access to the SETUP menu. It was 0621. This allowed me to run the auto channel setup, as well as fix some of the other functions. I don't know if this works with all remotes, but if you try different codes, you should get lucky. I'm sure it helps if you have a SETUP button on your remote.
