Screen..... I have an RCA HD52W59YX23 and I need to replace the screens. There is just a plain plexiglass protector screen and then a fresnel lense and then a lenticular lense, if my sources serve me correct. Either way, I took the thing apart and have the part numbers but can't find anywhere to order the things from. I would greatly appreciate any assistance in this matter. I am a do-it-myself kind of guy so I don't want to take it to a repair shop. Too expensive. I just need somewhere to order the parts. Thanks.

there are 2 functionality screens and 1 screen protector (on some) front screen = lenticular back screen = fresnel very front screen = screen protector (you can replace w plexiglass)
the fresnel and lenticular are very specific.. contact your local repair center for a new one. you can cut them from old screens but have to do just right (fresnel is a lens type - pic will be distorted if off center)
maybe find a old junker tv to pull screens from because new ones are about $100 a piece
By the looks of that picture, it's hard for me to believe that the scratch is not on the outside of the protective plexiglass screen. However, you can remove the protective screen w/o negative effect of the picture. In fact, it will probably reduce the glare from light on the screen. If, in fact, the scratch is still seen w/o the protective screen installed, then it is the lenticular screen that is scratched.
The lenticular screen is the one with the vertical grooves from top to bottom in it. The fresnal is the back screen that appears to have been lathed in a circular pattern.
Projection televisions have 2-3 screens that make up the screen assembly. A fresnel (closest to mirror) and lenticular (closest to viewer) make up the working components. A third screen protector may be on the outer side to protect the inner screens. Try to find out which screens are damaged to know what parts are needed. If it is just the front most, you could remove or replace with simple plexiglass. Always keep screens oriented as found and scratch and dust free (even an eyelash between them will show) for the best picture possible.
what is the model number for you set. is it a hd52w56 or something like that. on that model it is called the super sheild. is the inner screens damaged.. if just the outer screen that runs 200 or more. i have seen people just replace the plexiglass on it. the inner screens run about 250
This are the part #s for the screens 23430784
fresnel 23430783 lenticuclar . the screen protector just measure the size and go to home depot and they can cut the plexiglass for you.

The lenses (screens) between the mirror and the protector screen are called the lenticular and fresnel lenses. Those are ususally sold as a pair and have to be installed the correct way or the image won't be correct. I don;t believe there are any substitutes for these at all.
