First take of upper case and upper board ( board above mehanic) .From upper board take of conector from right said, two screw you have on that board. You can now take of board above.Plugged in tape, and put tape in.Now you try to forward or rewind, and you can see the reason of damage and squeaking.Possible reasons are driness of places with S and T reel tables. Also there are possbility of damaged capsten motor, and only solution is to put in a little fine mashin oil. Or maybe you can then, after all that, see another reason.Good luck, and I hope I helped you little bit. Don`t forget to wote! :-)
if you plug & unplug cable after turning off ,perhaps you can the conector firewire on the vcr inside there are 4 yellow cables if not the conector defect.try to push the cable firewire litle up down side just to make sure
You need to use longer tapes. The DER-11 is a DVCAM deck which when recording, uses a faster tape speed then mini DV. Think of your older VCR's. They had SP, two hours, and EP or SLP, which would be six hours. The SP speed would give a better picture. DVCAM is more like an SP recording except digital and a lot better. More information is laid down on the tape.
You'll have to jump up to the full size DVCAM tapes in order to record the full hour.
Pete, we are having the same problem with 2 dsr-11s.
The fix for us was the "auto repeat" switch on the back of the unit. It was "on" please turn it off.
The other idea was that the tape tension is very sensitive in the units, try exercising the tape (though exorcise might be good too) by fast-forwarding then rewind the tape start to finish. Tape that were tightly wound at the factory can cause this proble as well. Good Luck. Greg VA
Your DC to DC converter start up with protection,It been disteract with something, you don`t have a part of power supply. If you have another DCR 11 you can change board JC 12. I think that is the problem. Good luck!
