Question about Samsung RS2556 Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Refrigerator malfunction Regardless of what temperature we set on the adjustment mechanism, the displayed temperature (38°, for example) continuously blinks. The actual temperature inside is warmer than it should be resulting in food spoilage (and loss). This unit was purchased during October 2004. Both the refrigerator and freezer worked perfectly until this past March when we purchased a larger than usual amount of food in preparation for a large dinner party. The temperature of that food increased during transportation. When placed in our refrigerator, it caused the display to begin blinking. We checked our manual and learned that such blinking was normal but it has never stopped and we cannot maintain proper temperature(s) in the fridge. The freezer is working fine.

Samsung units have duel cooling. that means there is a evaporator in the freezer and the fresh food section. it is possible that the temp sensor in the refrigerator section could be bad. and they have been known to have defrost problems there to. the samsung is a complicated unit and its hard to describe how to repair since there is a lot of electronics that control everything. the best thing I could say is to unplug the refrigerator for a few minuets. sometimes this will reset everything and start the unit back to the factory settings. if that does not work I would call for service. hope it helped you some

Refrigerator digital thermometer settings do not work

If the digital temperature adjustment on your Kenmore refrigerator model 596.72003001 is not working, there are several possible causes and solutions to consider:
  1. Check the power supply: Make sure that the refrigerator is properly plugged in and that the outlet is working. If the outlet is not functioning, try plugging the refrigerator into a different outlet.
  2. Check the temperature sensor: The temperature sensor is responsible for communicating the current temperature to the digital display. If the sensor is malfunctioning or faulty, the display may not show the correct temperature or allow for adjustments. Check the sensor for any visible damage or signs of wear and tear, and replace it if necessary.
  3. Check the control board: The control board is responsible for regulating the refrigerator's temperature and ensuring that the digital display is functioning correctly. If the control board is damaged or malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced.
  4. Reset the refrigerator: Try resetting the refrigerator by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. This can sometimes help to reset the digital display and restore proper functionality.
If none of these solutions work, it may be necessary to contact a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.

Have a kenmore refrigerator freezer works but not refrigerator

You mean "How to Fix a Kenmore Refrigerator That Is Not Cold But the Freezer Is Good?"

Well this what i say,
Kenmore combination refrigerator and freezers combine the short- and long-term food storage options in a single unit. There are some occasions when the refrigerator compartment might appear to be malfunctioning while the freezer box stays cool. Ruling out these occasions ensures you have done everything you can to correct the problem before calling for a technician if necessary.

1.Verify that the temperature controls for the refrigerator compartment are properly configured. Tap the "^" or "v" buttons beside the refrigerator's LCD temperature display until "38," the ideal temperature, appears. The compartment could have been set too warm. Allow 24 hours for the the appliance to reach 38 degrees Fahrenheit.

2 Check that the refrigerator compartment door closes completely, objects inside the appliance could be holding the door ajar. When cool air is allowed to escape, the internal temperature rises. Cracked, holed or corroded door seals may also raise the refrigerator temperature.

3 Change how you use the refrigerator compartment; storing hot or warm food strains the appliance and causes a rise in internal temperatures. Do not prop open the door or leave it ajar for more than a few seconds at a time for the reasons outlined in Step 2.

4 Contact Kenmore if the refrigerator compartment remains too warm for your food. There may be a problem with the motor or any one of the other parts that regulate the temperature

Temp is reading -76 on the refrid side and won't reset

Hello,
I think that this can be a problem out of the malfunctioning of the thermostat of the refrigerator. You can do one thing. Try to remember the temperature you did set prior to the problem. With the help of a thermometer, evaluate if the temperature is the same as it was set. If yes, there is something wrong with the display mechanism. If not, surely the thermostat is malfunctioning.
Thank You.

How to set fridge temp

    1. The first thing you must know is that your refrigerator should be set at 37-38 degrees. Anything at 40 or higher and you are risking food born illness (food poisoning) or spoiling your food. Place your magnetic thermometer in the refrigerator.

    2. Set your dial on your refrigerator to the second lowest setting. (If your refrigerator is already equipped with a digital thermostat, simply set it for 37 or 38 degrees and do not move on to the next step)

    3. After 2 hours, check your thermometer reading. If your reading is 38 degrees, there is no need to go higher and you are ready to put your groceries in. Be sure not to open and close your refrigerator during these two hours or your temperature reading will be incorrect.

    4. If your reading is higher than 38 degrees, move your dial up to the next coldest setting and repeat the steps every two hours until you reach the correct temperature for your refrigerator.

    5. Once you have reached the correct refrigeration temperature for your refrigerator, place the magnetic thermometer in the refrigerator permanently and watch for changes.

Typically, your refrigerator temperature will need to be adjusted with the seasons, a higher setting in the summer and a lower setting in the winter.

Cooler wont cool below 48 degrees.

Keep a thermometer handy. (adjust temperature control knob accordingly)
Periodically monitor temperatures inside your cooler. (adjust as necessary)
Keep the refrigerator door closed as much as possible to avoid temperature fluctuations

The temperature of the refrigerator compartment is
controlled by adjusting/setting the thermostat control
knob, located on the ceiling of the refrigerator
cabinet.
To start the refrigerator, and achieve maximum
cooling quickly;
• Turn the temperature control knob (using a coin
or screwdriver) clockwise to the furthest
(maximum) setting on the darker blue section of
the graduated control dial.
• Allow the refrigerator to run at this setting for 3~4
hours.
• When maximum cooling is achieved, turn back
the temperature control knob setting to the 2:00
o'clock position on the graduated blue control
dial.
• Correct cooling temperature is a key factor to
consider in storing and dispensing draught beer.
• Optimum temperature for serving draught beer is
between 34ºF ~ 38ºF.(1ºC ~ 3ºC)
• To maintain temperatures ranging between
34ºF ~ 38ºF.(1ºC ~ 3ºC) We recommend the
thermostat knob be positioned at the "2:00
o'clock" setting on the graduated blue control dial.
• To turn off the refrigerator, (no cooling) rotate the
control knob to the "0" position.
