Casio Exilim won't turn on when memory card is inserted
I have a Casio Exilim EX-S3 that I have for about 4 years. It has just started not turning on when I have the memory card inserted. I have tried other memory cards and they do not work either. It will turn on when I take the memory card out. Can you offer suggestions as to what the problem may be? Thanks.

Re:
It sound like a bent pin issue.
Look at the bottom of the memory card slot, you probably bent one or more of the contactor pins. Use a small screwdriver and carefully try to straight the bent pin then carefully put the memory card back in.
From now on, use a USB cable for downloading your pictures and don't pull the card out anymore as the pin is probably weaker than before and can break.
Good luck !

Firstly, charge your battery fully. This should solve the switching off. It sounds to me like your card isn't in correctly, or is incompatible, and your internal memory is full. (it usually only stores a few photos for emergencies) Have a look at the type of card you have. If it says SDHC, or is 4GB or larger, it is not compatible with your camera and you need to get a 2GB. If not, it may not be inserted correctly. Push it all the way into the slot and it will click when it's in properly. Then try formatting it. Press review (where you look at the photos) and scroll down to setup- then look for 'format' and press okay. This should sort everything out. You can also copy the photos you've taken in the meantime from the memory to the card by pressing copy in the review menu and scrolling to the right. Hope that helps
camera's onboard memory is only 8MB, maybe 1 or 2 high resolution photo. delete the photo on the camera to clear error message and use only no more than 2 gig of sd card. It does not work with higher than 2 gig which is SDHC type sd card.
try inserting another piece of memory card. and format it. if the problem still persist, i suggest that your camera needs to be brought to the service center.
Make sure that the SD card you are using is either a SanDisc, Toshiba, or Panasonic. Those are the only cards that have been tested with Casio cameras. Also make sure that you format the card WITH THE CAMERA before you try and use it the first time.
If it still doesn't work I would try resetting the camera and then you should have no problem.
