BMW Fuel Line Disconnect repair

I know it's under the back seat, but how do I remove the fuel line? It should take less than 30 mins, but this connection is kicking my but

YOU NEED TO GO TO AUTO PARTS STORE AND BUY FUEL LINES DISCONNECT TOOLS.THE FUEL LINE DISCONNECT TOOLS GOES IN THE MALE SIDE OF THE QUICK CONNECT FITTING.INSERT FUEL LINE DISCONNECT TOOL INTO THE FUEL LINE CONNECTER FAR ENOUGH TO RELEASE THE INNER LOCKING SPRING.AND THEN PULL OFF CONNECTOR. LUBRICATE THE MALE PIPE END WITH A FEW DROPS OF OIL.BEFORE RECONNECTING THE QUICK CONNECT FITTING. WARNING THIS IS A DANGEROUS JOB, YOU NEED A HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL TO LOOK AT PHOTOS HOW TO DISCONNECT FUEL LINES.BECAUSE IF YOU DONT DO IT CORRECTLY.AND DAMAGE FUEL LINES.YOU WILL HAVE A FIRE GAS WILL SPRAY ALL OVER THE PLACE.

The fuel filter is serviced only as part of the left fuel level sensor assembly in the fuel tank

1. Remove rear seat bench

2. Fold carpet forwards

3. Fold back rubber mat

4. Remove the nuts and fold back metal cover

5. Disconnect electrical connector

6. Release and disconnect fuel feed and return lines

CAUTION: The fuel gauge must roughly indicate zero before the left tank opening is opened. Large quantities of fuel may emerge upon opening. If necessary, keep the left tank opening closed and feed an extraction hose through the right service opening to the left tank half and drain the fuel out of the left tank area before proceeding.

7. Release the screw cap

8. Carefully raise fuel level sensor until sensor flange emerges.

CAUTION: Risk of breakage! When raising sensor unit, do not pull excessively on connecting piece of fuel return line.

9. Disconnect line to fuel filter

10. Disconnect suction jet pump from fuel filter (Press catch downwards to detatch suction jet pump)

11. Remove left sensor unit from the tank.

12. Reverse order to install

You need to remove both side panels of the bodywork. there are quick disconnects on both fuel lines on the RHS of the machine. These are easily visible once the bodywork is removed. Then remove the glove box from the tank and remove the tank retaining bolt on the RHS of the bike. Disconnect both fuel lines and the electrical connector, and lift the tank off the bike. You will then have easy access to the fuel lines and clamps etc. Since you don't say why you want to replace the fuel lines, it may just be a leak at the quick disconnect which can be fixed with a new O ring.

You need a special to release the spring inside of the line. It's a fairly cheap tool that's made of plastic and slides over the line. You push the fuel lines together insert the tool while pulling back out.

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
   
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and relieve the fuel system pressure.

1. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter. Have a drain pan handy to catch any residual fuel once the lines are separated. On newer models, disconnect the fuel lines from the filter as follows:

1. Disconnect the safety clip from the male hose.
2. Install and push the fuel line disconnect tool into the female fitting.
3. Separate the male and female fittings.
4. Inspect the fuel lines for any damage after the fuel is finished draining.

1. Remove the fuel filter from the bracket and the retainer, if equipped. Note the direction of the flow arrow so the replacement filter can be installed correctly.

To install:

1. Position the fuel filter into the mounting bracket with the flow arrow pointing in the correct direction.
2. Install the fuel lines to the fuel filter. On newer models, align and push the male tube into the female fitting until a click is heard. Pull on the fitting to ensure that it is fully engaged, then install the safety clip.
3. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
   
4. Re-install neg. batt. cable to battery.

NOTE A fuel line disconnect tool is needed for this procedure.
CAUTION Fuel injection systems remain under pressure, even after the engine has been turned OFF. The fuel system pressure must be relieved before disconnecting any fuel lines. Failure to do so may result in fire and/or personal injury.

   Negative battery cable
3. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
   Fuel lines from the fuel filter. Have a drain pan handy to catch any residual fuel once the lines are separated.
4. On newer models, disconnect the fuel lines from the filter as follows:
   Safety clip from the male hose Install and push the fuel line disconnect tool into the female fitting.
5. Remove or disconnect the following:
   NOTE Inspect the fuel lines for any damage after the fuel is finished draining. Male and female fittings from the filter Fuel filter from the bracket and the retainer, if equipped. Note the direction of the flow arrow so the replacement filter can be installed correctly.

To install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   Fuel filter into the mounting bracket with the flow arrow pointing in the correct direction Fuel lines to the fuel filter. Align and push the male tube into the female fitting until a click is heard. Pull on the fitting to ensure that it is fully engaged, then install the safety clip.
2. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
   NOTE When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles (16 km) or more to relearn the strategy.
   
3. Connect the negative battery cable.

Your post soes not really say what the problem is. However I am thinking your are asking how to disconnect the fuel line from the pump. There is a disconnect tool you can purchase cheaply for the Fords. There are several sizes. This tool slides over the fuel line and presses towards the connection. Then it pushes a spring back to release the line at the connection. Any parts store sells these plastic pieces that are fuel line disconnect tools. Good luck.
