I keep getting the message "Charging Paused. Phone Temperature too high or too low"
brand new phone out of the box today. tried cooling it already, no luck. any ideas on a possible override or way around this?

I've got the same phone, except mine won't charge at all. I have 3 different chargers, and a USB cable. None of which will charge my phone. I have the same problem as well. I've replaced this phone once already through my insurance program and they sent me one with the same exact problem. I'm getting another one in the next couple of days so we'll see what happens.

Same problem - called Samsung and they didn't seem to be aware of the problem. I also have a samsung sync and i have 3 charges for my phone usb charger. car charger and regular plug in charger and my phone will not charge and also my phone always gets dropped calls it signal strneth sucks any suggestings.

The Samsung cells have four contacts. Two are for the voltage (sometimes marked as + and -) and two are for the temperature sensor. If the sensor is not communicating, the phone will detect an error and report it as low temperature. Try using a new cell and see if the message returns. If not then the old cell has a bad sensor. But if it returns, check that the four golden spring contacts in the phone are good, not bent, and the same length. If one of the contacts is bent, have it fixed.
i think you have a hard ware problem the phone might have been damaged because of high voltage change the charging port that might help and get a new charger and battery
In my technical experience this occurs mainly in the samsung mobile phone
it is not because of your battery.it is because one of your ic chip is being damaged......you need replace it.you can touch the phone internal chip and see which one of the chip is getting more heated up..you need to replace it..can you please tell me your model no.?so i may help you in chip replacement.
your battery is gone mostly. Try with the new battery it should work. When you drop battery in liquid, it shorts and doesnt work. If in warranty call samsumg customer support. Do not continue to use as it may cause more problems with your phone.
