Install belarc on your system. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html it will show you all the details of your machine. Then you will also can find the memory and processor architect from the net once you find the exact model. But you are only looking for info then you can also hit the command and on Run. Arun

Well the SystemMaxPC.com website is next to worthless. But, you might try http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php run this app and see which motherboard you have, then maybe find manual on manufacturer's site. CPU-Z will also show you what processor and memory you have currently, and more.

RAM compatibilty

No, DDR 400 will not work. The best thing you can do is call Dell and give them your information. Model number and that kind of information and let them tell you what kind of ram you need. If you put the wrong type of ram in your machine it could cause major damage. There are so many different kinds of memory out there, not to mention high and low denisity. Your machine may use PC2700 high density and if you try to use PC2700 low density it will not work. One other thing that you can try is uninstall a stick of your ram and write down everything on the stickers and then go to some place like kingston memory and use their memory locator to find what you need.

RAM upgrade for Gateway model MFATXNIN NMZ 300L?

Hi,
The system takes PC133 SDRAM, as far as i know without performing a BIOS flash it can take up to 1GB (2x512MB) most of these PC's are restricted to 2x256 so a BIOS flash could be imminent in this case.

Good luck

Pc restart before entering os

Okay you will need to run the OS install disk. DO NOT REINSTALL THE OS!!! Instead enter the repair portion of the disk. When you get into the dos command screen type "fixboot" without the quotations. It will ask you if you wish to continue. Then restart. That will fix your problem. If it doesn't tell me and I will continue troubleshooting.

Hi. Thank you for being so kind as to ask me this.

This is a fairly easy answer.

The main cause of freezing in computers is that you are running too many programs, and it is using more RAM than you have installed.

SO if your computer is freezing, try installing more RAM.

Good Luck!

How do I determine what kind of memory that I need?

Go to Crucial.com and install their configuration utility through your browser. They will tell you what you have and all the combinations you can do to max out your system. Look at the specs of the RAM and you can get it from Crucial or some other vendor.

Ram memory

the problem may be that your new memory is not compatable with the current memory and board, the easiest way is to remove your memory and just install the new memory and try all slots, if you get no boot then you know the memory is not compatable.
