We recently bought this LCD TV and I messed with the picture setting because my sone was watching baseball and couldn't see the the score and stats listed. Now the picture is way too big and I cannot figure out how to make it fit the screen again. I have tried all the settings!
Also does anyone know if you can save the settings? My husband claims the settings keep changing and the picture keeps getting blurry.

Re: samsung adjusting the picture
I started reading the manual with your question in mind, but I found that the instructions for screen controls take up about 40 pages.
I'll just put the URL for the owners manual here instead. That way you'll have all the information you should ever need for making adjustments. ;)

Hi, I have a Samsung LN40A550 LCD TV which I have had for just over a year. ... I was watching TV yesterday and all of a sudden the picture went all. ... started makinga very high pitched buzzing sound with no picuture coming on. We did have a bunch of green vertical lines, but now just a black screen.
Reverts eventually means there is some looseness some where. Please check connectors and cables between power supply- TCON, TCON- Panel and main board-TCON. If you cant do it show it to some qualified technician.
the problem is the vertical height adjustement but usely you dont need to adjust this setting its inside
the set , thats is probably a capacitor in the vertical deflection circuit chips but you can disconnect the set and open it and look for a mini control wheres its write v height because the guy sale you the tv should have a problem with this;i highly recommend that you dont do wath i say but call a tech at home and make it fix its an hour jobs about
its not verry expensive...
hope that will help you ps if you decide to open it and fix that by your self watch you have very high voltage inside it can arm you seriously
regards allan ,pro tech..
There is a Anynet Setting under the input tab. It has to be on the right setting or the picture Jumps after 20-25 minute. Once I adjusted it to the right setting it stopped jumping and it now works Perfect. Would nt have figured it out if I wouldnt have been messing around with it as a last chance deal.
Check your display size. It sounds to me like you have it set on ZOOM. On your remote there should be a button labeled PICTURE. Scroll through the setting till you see 16x9 and set it to this. Keep in mind that some commercials and programs are not filmed in widescreen so the picture will be in the 4.3 aspect ratio, "square"
it indicates that the problem is aspect ratio or pixel settings for thescreen
bring up the on screen menu and adjust the pixel setting to fit the screen or the apsect ratio to fit the screen
read the operators manual to see how the adjustments are made
