Question about EliteGroup P4M800-M7 Motherboard
Have you got details of your graphics card? - sounds like that could possibly be the root of the problem. check you have the latest drivers for it and any updates. What soundcard do you have? what driver are you running it from? the common thing between all of the problems you describe is audio. Check there is no audio driver update (ask with details if you need help with this). Next easy thing to try is to check if you have the most up-to-date version of DirectX. It is used by a lot of games and a few video players; http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;DE;drxint Next thing to do is give us the details of your system. We need to know operating system, graphics card make and model, monitor, memory specs , CPU type and speed, and what type of games/videos do you have problems with. What music/video player are you having trouble with (if windows media player, let us know which version), and have you tried others with any different results. If your graphics card has its own fan - check it is not clogged with dust and it spins when you turn on a video or game. While you're there check the other fans. What do you connect to the PC often - MP3 players/cameras/'phones etc. What do you have the PC set up with - what speakers/amplifier, what monitor/tv, wireless/ps2/serial/USB mouse/keyboard etc. Hope we can help - sorry need more info. :)

First try reinstalling your AC97 audio codec;
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/down...
Download the correct one and follow the instalaltion instructions.
That will hopefully solve the problem
Let me know if not and we can try a few other things :)

Hi,
The soundcard is Reltek AC97 if that makes any sense. Not 100% sure if I'm looking at the right things to be honest.
Not sure on the graphics card? How can I find out what it is? I have some details saying it's connect3D.
I have DirectX 9.0, which I believe is the latest version.
My system:
intel pentium 4
3.4 GHz
512 RAM
approx 200Gb memory
I have 5.1 speakers
printer on USB
plug n play monitor, mouse, keyboard
i cant play music for long using itunes or windows media player 11 or play games for long without it crashing
As far as I know the fans are working just fine and it doesn't seem to be overheating.
Sorry if this is the wrong info but I don't really know much about computer systems.
Lee
I've downloaded the AC97 drivers but its still crashing.
