Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement.
Dear Jeff, It seems like the Horizontal IC in your TV is dying. This and the Vertical IC is responsible for displaying images on your TV. (Look at your TV through your Phone Camera and you will see upward scrolling lines. This is the Horizontal IC in action.) I would strongly advise you to get your TV repaired immediately.
Can you please change the input device to some other you know, works? If you do not notice any problem there, look for the aerial cable going close to any power line or has interference from some other transmissions of any kind nearby.
hi all .ive had the same problem,a thick black line down
screen.sometimes it flickers from top to bottom and other permantly in
view.but i have solved it.forget your ic boards and taking apart tv.have
you got either a ps3 or wii connected to tv.if so unplug power lead
from socket and relocate in seperate socket.make sure the lead is
completely free of any other leads and you might just find this works.i
think the power lead creates some sort of frequency that the tv picks up
.good luck hope it works
