Question about Yamaha DVD-S520 DVD Player

1 Answer

Yamaha DVD S520

I owned a DVD Player S520 and when I play a DVD, after an hour and a half, there is a message "ERROR" and the DVD stop. When I play an audio CD , sometimes a message "ERROR 57:04 " appears and the CD stop.

Not reading, seems to be laser pick-up problem have tried cleaning it sometimes plays for about 1 hour before getting stuck, and after that the laser wont focus

Sounds like the motors that control the angle and focus of the laser are going bad. Either find out what kind of replacement laser assembly would be needed and order it online, or get a new DVD player.

My dvd always shows "system error" and won't play commercial copyright dvds, only recorded ones.

I had the same problem with my recorder except that it wouldnt play any discs at all.. I finally unplugged the recorder and left it unplugged for 16 hours. Now it is fine. I am not getting any error messages.
