I owned a DVD Player S520 and when I play a DVD, after an hour and a half, there is a message "ERROR" and the DVD stop. When I play an audio CD , sometimes a message "ERROR 57:04 " appears and the CD stop.

Yes sir, starting to malfunction and needs replacement now. unless you cant ry cleaning it manually maybe it will help a little but sooner or later it will again give you same trouble

Sounds like the motors that control the angle and focus of the laser are going bad. Either find out what kind of replacement laser assembly would be needed and order it online, or get a new DVD player.
please check you TV color system. you are not using the right color frequency. if your TV has got an auto color region select then set it to auto. otherwise, select the TV color mode until you get the right color frequency
I had the same problem with my recorder except that it wouldnt play any discs at all.. I finally unplugged the recorder and left it unplugged for 16 hours. Now it is fine. I am not getting any error messages.
I think it's the optical block, for $150.00
