Can anyone tell how to determine why my HP Officejet Printer is so very slow. It moves the paper into the feeder and then it stalls and waits. Sometimes it takes 2-3 minutes to print one page of typed manuscript. I have done a number things to try and get it faster, including change the printer settings to the faster printing option. There is adequate available computer memory so that is not the problem. The printer is connected to my home network but I don't think that this is the problem. Any suggestions or directions will be appreciated.
Printers over networks are slower and this could be your problem.

It takes FOREVER to print a short page . How can I speed up the printer? Have tried to use the Spool Setting- did not work. Thanks, rubiedo
Try to compare a black thick line printed with your printer and the same line with another similar printer and see if the one that you print with your printer isn't as black as the other. I have the same problem, but I think it's because the printer uses only the color cartridge to make the black color. The pictures don't look as bright either.
