No picture at all on daewoo lcd tv

I have an LCD Daewoo TV solely connected to an Xbox360 games console. The problem is when i turn tv & console on the console works fine & the tv stays on a black screen (no picture at all). The tv is connected to the console via a component lead which i have never had a problem with. I have tried another lead & this does not help. The tv is definently on the correct setting, the same setting it has always been on. The tv is 2 years old & again this problem has never happened before. The console has recently been repaired & has been working fine, so as the leads & the console are ok maybe the problem is the tv. Can you help please. Many thanks Dean Blunt

I have a problem that looks similar. After some research and troubleshooting, I believe that the problem with my TV is the A/D decoding chip that takes care of the component video inputs. These chips are not simple analog to digital converters. They understand the component video (YPbPr) signals and need to sync to them at the various transmission frequencies and convert them to 3 digital YUV data streams with the correct number of pixels and dimension. I am only a computer engineer, but I guess these chips probably aren't very reliable or last very long... Try to use your TV with different input connectors and resolutions. If some of them work correctly, it is likely the A/D thing.

Vertical line on daewoo tv 14"

If that is an LCD screen, you need a new one. The edge connection on the LCD has come loose at one solder point. You could take it apart and see if you can locate it.

The stand by light flashing means that a fault had been detected, and the TV protection circuit had started.

Whenthis happen, the protection circuit will shut down all PSU highervoltages, keeping the low +5V to supply the flashing led on, and warnabout the fault.

The TV does not respond to control when in protect mode.

All you can do is checking all connections, and leaving the TV disconnected for a while, to drain charge held on PSU capacitors.
A short in a cable or connector will also cause the unit going on protection.

You can follow the instructions on this article, it refers mostly to DLP, but the troubleshooting is the same on LCD TV

If you have done that already, that means that there is an internal fault.

Inthat case the best thing to do is contacting manufacturer at the numberlisted on the owners manual, and getting a quote on repair.

Onan LCD like this there are only few parts, a main controller, aninverter, a PSU board, an audio board, an LCD controller board, abutton and IR assembly, cables and the display.

The parts must be accessed and tested by a technician.

If the unit is less than one year cold, the repair will be covered bymanufacturer. In any case, if the TV does not wake up from protectmode, then it is faulty. Always better contacting Daewoo at the numberlisted on the owners manual.

Parts are available from Daewoo. A spare PSU, that is a common fault, is about £60 in UK. Here the spare:Power Board FEL-3226H Daewoo DLT32C3FTV . Naturally that is not necessarily the fault.

Try first the troubleshooting procedure suggested above. If that does not work, contact Daewoo.

Our Daewoo LCD DLV-42C7LMB has sound but no picture? We can hear the TV perfectly but the picture is blank completely. We have no Austar and no normal TV stations. We have checked all of the connections...

Chances are you have LED lamps in the panel that are bad and need replacing..look at spending at least $150 to get it repaired, for this TV 3 yrs is longer then they typically last, they aren't exactly high quality sets
