Canon Power Shot A95

Screen is black can't take pictures, battery area becomes very HOT when on. Can you help me?

If you can see pictures that you have taken earlier (stored on your memory card), you may have a CCD problem. See this link for information on the problem and contact Canon if you think this is it.

Sounds to me like your CCD was damaged. The CCD is the "chip" or "brain" of your camera, so to speak. The only way to fix this is to have the CCD replaced. But first you should find out about the cost, which may be similar to buying a new camera.

canon has a recall on this camera. call them and they will send you a box to send it back. If you are one of the lucky ones the will send you a canon s5is back...really nice camera

Red tint in the picture

And restore the factory setting and turn off camera for 5 minutes after this use it.
