Hi, it seems u r facing some trouble while receiving calls,. well, there's no such optional setting which would turn the flip speaker on/off,.. hence its clear that the prob is with the flip, my best advice is to give it for an authorized Motorola service center (as your phone comes under the warranty period i guess), and wait for the best to happen,.. regards, sheldon

Not hearing incoming calls

Ensure nothing is obstructing the microphone hole or the speaker. Sometimes lint or cases or screen protectors cause issues with sound.

Phone rings but I cannot hear the caller on my V170

the problem may be with your phone speaker... try using a ear piece and if that works the problem is definitely with your speakers and you need to change it...

I have a Motorola i776w i must put the caller on Speakerphone or use an earpiece to get audio.

Hi, when you start using a phone with speaker and earpiece,it means that the earpiece inside the phone that allows you to hear others when they call you is faulty, and you will need to replace it,for you to stop using the speaker.

Take care.

I can only hear a caller if I turn on the speaker. What's going on?

Hi,

All the [hones contains two speakers,
1)Headspeaker, Used for hearing from callers..
2)Loudspeaker for hearing Ringtones and callers when on speakerphone mode

THe problem in your case is with the headspeaker,

To check the headspeaker:

UNSCREW THE PHONE TO INSPECT THE SPEAKER.
REPLACE IT, IF IT IS DAMAGED.
TRY USING SOLDERING LED AND SOLDERING IRON TO SOLDER, THE SPEAKER

Answering Delay.

get a TORX 6 screwdriver

WIggle the tiny flex cable connector
near the hinge.. still no luck ????

Buy another V220 on ebay

gently take the phone apart and sub in the whole
screen shell and front of keypad.

DO NOT TRY TO remove the screen from the body section..
you will destroy to the teeny tiny flex cable.

Google for V220 take apart/ disassembly
