Well your graphics card is getting hot you need to do something or you will be the next one with the red ,green and yellow lights of dead
I recommend to use a cooling device and make sure you unit has a good space to dissipate heat from the back of the unit and from the right side

My 60gb ps3 can play regular dvds and ps2 games but not any blue ray related games or movies. The blue ray movies or games will either play for a little then freeze not read the disc at all or give me an...

Okay, this is a REALLY common problem. It's more likely than not that dust is on your lens. Best bet is to buy a Laser Eye Cleaner disc and hope that fixes the problem. If not than you will have to contact sony. If your still under warranty they will fix it for free. if the warranty has expired, then they will charge you a repair fee

Glitch on ati

Many of the old games use graphic textures that are not to the power of 2. This will result in missing textures, scrambled textures, black screens and more.

Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about this aside from making yourself an old pc or resurrecting an old one just to play them.

another suggestion is to drop the resolution down to 800x600 or 1024x768 and test there to see if this solves the issue.

As graphic cards advance they don't always hold a backwards compatibility. Its just what happens.

How to play ps2 games on ps3

Ok well here is the "Skinny" 1). 20GB has no chrome trim, no memory card reader and no wi-fi. Not manufactured anymore. Has the best backwards compatibility with PS2 games due to Emotion Engine (PS2's CPU) and Graphics Synthesizer (PS2's GPU) installed.
2). NTSC 60GB has the same backwards compatibility as 20GB version, also has memory card reader and wi-fi. Has a chrome trim.
3). 80GB - extended memory, but reduced backwards compatibility with PS2 games, it has only Graphics Synthesizer (PS2's GPU). Around 80% of PS2 games can be played. Available only in NTSC regions.
4). 40GB - can't play PS2 games at all (all PS2 chips were removed), has 2 USBs instead of 4, no memory card reader, has wi-fi. Avalable in black and white colors. White is on sale only in Japan. Uses 65nm technology (lower power consumption). Improved cooling system. It's the latest version. 40GB doesn't support SACD.
5). PAL 60GB - reduced backwards compatibility with PS2 games. it has only Graphics Synthesizer (PS2's GPU). Around 80% of PS2 games can be played.
Wi-fi included in all models, except 20GB.

My PS3 can't only PS2 games!!! 80028F17

Not all PS3s are able to play PS2 games - they started removing that functionality when they came out with the 60GB model. So if you have a relatively new PS3 (A year old or so), that's likely the reason.

Error 80028f17

Error 80028f17 is a boot error and there is nothing you can really do about it, the disk is corrupted or burned (illegal copy) of the game. If it is legit, go back to the store and ask for another copy as it doesn't work.
