I used to have some free software that did this years ago, however I cannot remember the name of it. Although I just did a quick search on google and came up with 'fineprint'. Fineprint does do what you want but its NOT free. However there is free trial version here: http://www.fineprint.com/

How to duplex print with 895cxi

This model printer does not have a duplex unit and cannot print double sided documents automatically.
DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING USING A SINGLE SIDED PRINTER
If your printer does not have a duplex unit then the printercannot print double sided pages automatically.
You can print double sided pages but you have to do it one page at a time.
First print Page 1 then place the page back into the paper tray, but turn thepage upside down and the print Page 2.
Then print page 3 on one side then page 4 on the other side and repeat for therest of the document.
I suggest you try a test page first, to get the printing the right way up onboth sides of the page so it reads correctly.

HOW TO PRINT ON BOTH THE SIDES OF A PAPER

Its very simple to print on both the sides of a paper. If your printer is the one with Duplex Printing, then

just open the print dialog box by clicking on PRINT in the file menu of any document.

Now click on the Properties

Click on the check box (small box given along any option, where a tick appears, when clicked)
present at the side of "click on both the sides", and click OK.... and the paper is printed on both the sides.

BUT EVEN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A DUPLEX PRINTER, THEN YOU CAN DO THAT

MANUALLY AS WELL.....wanna know how....its very simple, have a look below......:

Once you open the Print dialog box, just on the left hand side there are options given
to select for the type of printing you want.....eg. All Pages, Pages... etc. click on Pages and enter the nos. in
odd series i.e. 1,3,5,7,9.... once this printing is over now turn the sides of the pages and place it in the tray
and enter the page nos. 2,4,6,8,10 where you enterd the odd pages. Simple you will get printouts 2 at the back
of 1 and 4 at the back of 3......is'nt it simple....... give it a try and go on & save paper....

Good Luck!!

I have a lexmark x6570 printer it will not print on both sides of the paper anymore it use to print on one side then pull the paper back in as use the other side

Please follow steps below on how to print 2-sided on your printer:
Printing on both sides of the paper (duplexing) automatically:
  1. Press printmastert_76.jpg.
  2. With a document open, click File > Print.
  3. Click Properties, Preferences, Options, or Setup.
  4. Click the Print Layout tab
  5. From the Duplexing area, select Use Printer Settings from the drop-down box.
  6. Make sure the printmastert_77.jpg light is on.
  7. Click OK to close any printer software dialogs that are open.

Printing on both sides of the paper (duplexing) manually:
  1. With a document open, click File > Print.
  2. Click Properties, Preferences, Options or Setup.
  3. Click the Print Layout tab.
  4. From the Duplexing area, select Manual from the drop-down box.
  5. Select the Print manual duplex instructions check box.
  6. Press Start.
  7. The printer prints the odd-numbered pages and the instruction sheet, which describes how to flip and reload the paper.
  8. Following the instruction sheet, flip and reload the paper with the printed side facing away from you.
  9. The printer then prints the even-numbered pages on the reverse sides of the odd-numbered pages, completing the two-sided sheets.
Note:
  • printmastert_78.jpg button is not functional with a Macintosh operating system. You can print two-sided documents with a Macintosh operating system by using the settings in the Two-Sided menu of the Print dialog.
  • Automatic two-sided printing (duplexing) works only with plain paper in letter and A4 sizes. If you want to print two-sided documents on another size or type of paper, use the manual duplexing method.
  • To return to single-sided printing, make sure the printmastert_79.jpg light is not on.

Hi sir, How to get print both side pages in canon lbp2900b.could please clarify.

The printer is only able to print on one side of the page at once.

In order to print on both sides you will need to print only 1 page. This is set on the left side window that comes up before you print. Select the option to print Page number 1.

Then once the page is printed, turn it typed side down heading first, back into the paper tray.

Now select to print Page number 2.

This process is called manual duplex printing, since the printer does not support automatic duplex printing.

Take care!

How can i print both sides of paper on my magiccolor5550

IF you have the optional duplex unit installed on your printer then when you go to print something, your printer setup screen should have a duplex/2 sided printing box you can check. This will be under printing preferences or properties. If you do NOT have the optional duplex option then you have to manually duplex. That means on say a 2 page document that you want 10 copies of you have to print 10 copies of page 1. Then take those 10 copies and place them back into the paper tray and print 10 copies of page 2 onto the backs of page 1.
Those are you 2 choices for duplex printing.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

In the past I was able to choose the Manual Option which allowed me to print on both sides. Now every time I choose this option, it goes to Off. Can you please help me with this problem?

Many printers support duplex printing, but they don't all make the duplex option available in the same way. With some desktop printers, choosing duplex means that the printer prints all of the copies of the first side of a page, then pauses and asks you to flip the sheets that it just printed and return them to the printer, after which it prints all of the copies of the second side. This method is called manual duplexing.

To print on both sides of a sheet of paper:
  1. On the File menu, click Print.
  2. In the Print dialog box, in the Name list, select the printer that you want to use.
  3. Click Properties.

Note The information in the Properties dialog box varies depending upon the manufacturer of the printer you're using. With some printers, you will see a Layout tab with a Print on both sides option on it. With other printers, you might see a Features tab, and the duplex option might be called something like Two-sided printing. Explore the various tabs in the Properties dialog box until you locate the duplex printing option.

  1. Choose the duplex printing option that you want.

The options will be called something like Long edge (or Flip on long edge) and Short edge (or Flip on short edge). Whether it's better for the paper to be flipped on the short edge or the long edge depends upon the type of publication you're printing. You might need to print a test publication or two to discover which option works best.

  1. Click OK to close the Properties dialog box, and then click OK again to close the Print dialog box and print your publication.

HP Laserjet 2015n printer

Sir, the Hp LaserJet 2015n printer CANNOT automatically do duplex printing since the printer does not include mechanism and paper storage areas to cycle the paper through the printer a second time and print on the reverse side. Manual duplex printing can be done as follows: Choose duplex printing and remove all sheets after the printing is complete. Turn the sheets over while preserving the orientation and insert them in the paper feed path. I have an HP 1020 laserjet printer which is similar to the 2015.

2-sided printing

The option you're after is "duplex" which is in the "printing preferences" (printers > MP470 (right click) > printing preferences)

I believe the MP470 doesn't have a built in duplexer so this would require you to manually put the first printed page back in, as per the instructions which usually accompany the printing job.

From painful experience it requires a little out-of-body viewing ability to put yourself through the path the paper will take to understand how it goes in.

...BUT once you've got it, I'd recommend making a note with a template you can pin to a wall or similar so you don't have to go through the whole "how does it work again?" process.
