Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Graphic Distortion I am experiencing some odd graphics when I play on my 360. The occur during most games, but to various extremes. Call of Duty 2 is the worst, and is an xbox 360 game. There are no game play problems, even though sometimes the distortions are bad enough that I can't see much of what is going on. They appear to be the result of parts of the surrounding environment being stretched in odd ways. The are not dynamic though, each graphic which is stretch out stays stretched the same way during game play. Though the object that is stretched is supposed to be solid, the stretched part can be passed through. Is my graphics chip busted? any thoughts? Thanks in advance

I think thats probably not it. The distortions are static, they happen in the same place on the same games whether the machine has been on for an hour or a minute. Thank you for the help though.

Distorted graphics and low frame rate with new 3d games

Based on that game list it sounds like the problem is related to hardware T&L(transform and lighting) as the games that cause the problem require T&L and the other games don't require it and their fine. It's a start, also have tried both direct3d and opengl modes? Good Luck

Another stange graphic problem

This may be an indication of the graphics processor overheating. When the card overheats it tends to leave artifacts like black dots. Newer games typically put harder stresses on consoles than older titles. This would also explain why the dots aren't showing up in menus, menus don't require as much juice as game play. I would blow out the system with some canned air and try playing the system in a cool, well ventilated area to see if that helps. Sometimes this can be a permanent issue with the graphics processor and you would need to send it in to Microsoft.

Graphics problem on Xbox 360

I think this is less of an isolated issue but a universal one. As Halo 2 (and I'm assuming the version of Medal of Honour you speak of) are original xbox games, these can be prone to graphics distortion due to being emulated. I often find my Halo 2 campaign mode sometimes "ghosts" or leaves certain outlines stuck on the screen, which is irritating but nothing too major. If this happens in any designated xbox 360 game, search the web for similar problems with the game itself, if not give Microsoft a call. Bring food, it's a long call wait :)
