It can be the ignitor as described above,or the gas valve coils on the gas valve getting weak or gone completely,or even the high limit thermostat on the burner housing open and also the flame sensor next to the high limit but these rarely go bad,the thermal fuse can be bad but on these if this goes out the whole unit quits and it sounds as though it still turns just no heat

Tumbles but does not dry

When you put your wet cloths in the dryer close the door. You should then turn on the dry cycle you wish, not the fluff option as there will be only air and gas dryer will not heat the cloths. Wait 30 ~ seconds after the dryer is turned on and listen for the gas to ignite and begin warming and drying the cloths. If you hear no bump sound like the ignition of the gas, then you have an ignition issue. It will require replacing the ignitor. All the best and good luck. Hope this helped.

What is automatic dry miser

Hello,
What the automatic dry miser is, is a sensor that measure how dry the clothes are and will adjust the time its going to take to dry the clothes throughout the entire cycle. If at the beginning it estimate it will take 40 minutes to sry a load but they are dry in only 25 minutes the dryer knows the clothes are dry and cuts the dryer off. Saving 15 minutes of unneeded gas and electric that it would run and waste power and gas since the clothes were dry already.

My LG dlg2532 takes forever to dry clothes. When the drying cycle ends, the clothes are still quite damp. It's a gas dryer and the dryer seems to be getting gas since it does eventually dry the clothes...

How long are the vents? do they go for miles in your house?(sarcasm) Does the dryer have good ventilation? Check the vents again and make sure it is clear.

Gas dryer not drying clothes

Hi, Dryers are simple machines to fix yourself so the main reasons dryers do not dry cloths is listed below.
1. Make sure the vent is clear from obstruction of lint built up by taking off vent and make sure the vent flap is opening when dryer is on, beware most house fires are caused by neglect of dryer vent!
2. People allot of times overload machine which causes cloths not to dry.
3. Electrical Repair Needed: one of the thermostats in the dryer are defective

Maytag Neptune MDG 5500 AWQ heats sporatically

your dryer has a safety feature that it will not run or heat when the door is opened. It is so no gas fumes are exhauseted into your home. Once the safety is engaged, It will not allow the dryer to restart for a short while. It should clear itself after only a few minutes. Hope this helps, good luck.

This problem doesn't sound right, but you could have a bad moisture sensor.
