San Disk Extreme 8GB with Images on but no images on computer

2 New San Disk Extremes images can be viewed in camera but when Memory disk inserted into computer there are no images?

I also think that may be that images are stored in Internal memory, not in SD card. One of my friends has same problem when he used a new San Disk Memory Card (Which was ordered from Mobansp store) but does not change the storage settings.

Check the camera's settings, the photos maybe stored in the camera's internal memory and not being stored on the memory card.

Hi JenneyLou, Install your software that came with your camera. Remove disk from camera and put in computer Open up the web page Go to "Insert Picture From File" Choose "A" drive Find the selected photo Choose and Click OK This will insert the photo. Try to use a can of air and blow out the inside where the disk goes. The sensor may be dirty.

it is possibly a CCD failure when it starts to fail it do like this as unable to focus the pics properly and the pics are blurry discolored and have different shades sometimes horizontal and vertical lines with white noise it is known problem in the cameras that were manufac in 2002 -2006 , all are repairing FREE OF COST just contact sony if u see one of the symptoms above explained , see th elink for support

you can recover pictures from camera with asoftech photo recovery program.

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

Let me help you with the problem that you have just described, please follow the below steps :-

  1. Get a memory card ready from the market which would cost very less so that you can connect the memory card to your PC.
  2. After you get a memory card reader you can insert the san disk card in it and you will be able to see the files , the image files that you have on your memory card , on your pc.
  3. After you are able to see all the files on your card , you can copy the entire content to your desktop which means that you are copying those images on your hard disk.
  4. To copy the images, press CTRL + A or go in edit menu and select select all option once you are in the image directory , then select copy and create a new directory on your desktop and paste the images by opening the directory by the CTRL + V option or the edit -- Paste option.
Al alternate way to do this is to connect your camera directly to your pc in a mass storage mode and then you will be able to see all the image files so that you can follow the copy process as described above so that you don't lose your files.

If you are assured that you have copied the files to your desktop i.e. your hard disk you can go ahead and format your memory card.

yes you can there are commercial experts that do recovery job, i suggest that you try new memory on your camera and see if your camera doesn't give error, you can also try to remove your disk from your camera and connect it to your pc using specific adaptor and view its content there

You may have answered your own question. There is a good chance that your memory card has reached the end of its life. You might try reformatting the card with the computer and then do the format in the camera. This has worked for me before.

Transfering pictures using the FlashPath Floppy Disk Adapter?
To transfer pictures: 1. Remove the memory card from the camera. 2. Insert the memory card into the floppy disk adapter. Make sure that you insert the memory card into the adapter with the gold side of the memory card facing you and to the right and the silver side of the adapter facing away from you. 3. Insert the floppy disk adapter into the diskette drive on your computer. 4. Double-click the PhotoMAX shortcut on your desktop to open the software. 5. Click Get Photo. 6. Click Album or FlashPath. 7. Click Downlod from FlashPath. The images appear as thumbnails on the album manager window. 8. Double-click the image that you want to edit. The image appears in the image tray. 9. Remove the FlashPath Floppy Disk Adapter from the diskette drive when you are done.
