Xbox 360 disc drive error

Hi. My Xbox 360 disc drive has been acting up lately. I had been standing the 360 upright ever since I got it and it worked just fine. About a few months ago its disc drive would hesitate when I'd push the button to open it. Well, a friend of mine told me to lay it down on its side and it wouldn't do that. Well, I did that and the disc drive didn't do that for about six months. Now, it's doing it again. It doesn't do it as much as it did when I had the console upright but it still does it. Any solutions?

You can open the box and take the lid off the drive and bend it very slightly as to ad clearence. Common with Samsung drives in the xbox 360 consoles.

Sounds like a mis-stamped peice of plastic, aside from getting a new drawer for the drive there is little to do.

Why wont my xbox 360 elite read discs? i put disc in and it comes up reading and then open tray

My only questions are does the console say the discs are damaged in any way? and is the console standing up right?
If the discs are scratched in any way then that might cause the 360 to not read the disc and sometimes having a console play the disc upright (example of upright 360) for a long time can cause dis function when trying to play discs, so try playing the discs with the console on its side (side example) These are my solutions to the problem but you can try these: Solution 1 Solution 2

Xbox 360 Console: I've had problem with my Xbox 360 reading my discs...

Disc drive is out, needs replaced, but inorder to replace it you must keep the original drive. You can either order one online and follow these instructions to do it ureself (recommended) or email [email protected] for a pricing for repair.

Put in disc and then it says open drive. Recently

If your Xbox 360 will not play your games this is because of the sensors on the back of the drive overheating it is not normally the laser.

Luckily you can fix this yourself and get back to your games and to do this you need the proven Xbox 360 Repair guide.

Or you can send it in and they will fix it for you the repair will take about 4 weeks.

This is getting to be more of a common error of late.

On my psp my games won't work

Almost at the same time the Xbox 360 was released in late 2005, consumers began reporting rounded scratches found on discs used in their Xbox 360 consoles. Almost two years later, in February 2007, the website "The Llamma's Adventures" investigated the matter and concluded that some Xbox 360 drives lack a mechanism to secure the disc solidly in place.
