Dishwasher just started not filling enough water to wash dishes.

It use to fill for about one to two minutes and the water came up to the heating element before it shut off and started the wash cycle. Now it only fills for about 20 seconds and you cant see any water in the tub. It starts the wash cycle immediately after the 20 second fill.
I'm thinking something went bad in the control board.

It does sound like a circuit board problem but lets not rush out and pay an exorbitant service fee yet...I checked the user manual and this model does have a timer also...so often timer go out and many people think the problem lies elsewhere...but when a timer goes out or a couple of teeth no longer engage then you could have any number of problems...I doubt the solenoid is bad or it would not initiate at all to begin with,,,,,so here is a little test......turn the DW on and cycle the timer to where it starts the water solenoid....watch the timer to see that it turns and disengages. the solenoid...How quick was it? (if under your accustomed 2 mins... problem with timer). Another test is to do the same and hold the timer tightly preventing it from turning and see if you can force the fill valve to stay open longer (if so...bad timer).

I hope this helps...please rate me....The Fang

My dish washer wont fill with water

there is a float, usually at front left side inside dishwasher, that may be stuck..possibly an utility holding it up, or the fill valve is stuck. When dishwasher calls for water, it fills until this float rises to proper level and shuts the valve off at proper level. If it sticks, water will shut off at improper level.

Hobart WM-ID dishwasher doesn't heat water enough to clean dishes

The WM-1D does not have any internal heating devices. You have to supply the machine with the proper water temp. It has two fill valves, one for wash and one for rinse. It should have 150F supplied to the wash fill valve and 180F to the rinse fill valve.

Does not cleans dishes

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please check the Water temperature by using a thermometer inside the dishwasher to measure the water temp. It should be as close to 125 degree F to 140 degree F as possible. Now try using the temperature boost feature if your dishwasher is equipped with this cycle feature and check if this will help your wash ability issues.

Now check the Powder soap by making sure that you store your soap in a dry environment and it is not stale and clumping together. Possibly try a different detergent like a liquid or gel. Also, make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.

To check the proper filling dishwasher will fill with water up to and around the heating element. If water is more below the heating element, you may have low water pressure or a problem with the fill valve. Try & listen if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.

For low water pressure, try to clean the screen at the entrance of the fill valve, sometimes the fill valve can fail and not allow the proper water into the dishwasher and may need to be replaced. And, check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks. Also make sure that the water is draining and is not accumulated in the dishwasher, if it is in dishwasher then check for clogged drain hoses and drain pump.

Low water fills are a very common trouble maker with today's dishwasher.

Dish washer not filling

I had the same problem. It was a clogged water inlet valve. Packed with sediment. Accessible from the bottom if you have the right tools. Just clean out and replace. Or the valve could be bad.

My dishwasher is filling up with water but the water want get hot

The water needs to be hot before it goes into the dishwasher. Just before you start the machine, run the hot water faucet until the water gets hot.

Some dishwashers have a heat boost feature to sanitize the dishes, but it's not intended to take cold input water and make it hot.

Kenmore dishwasher 58715142400 fills but doesn't wash

Motor has gone out..just like mine...Make sure u have voltage going to the motor, (disconnect the plug from the motor) and use an electric meter to make sure you have voltage going to the motor. If so the motor has either gone out or has been blocked by something! If no noise except clicking then motor has gone out. Looking at about $150 for motor.
