I found a site that has many, many manuals for Smeg Dishwashers. None are what you asked for. Perhaps you have the wrong number.

Check the site out, maybe there is one there that will match your machine. Good Luck.

Can you hear the wash pump operating during the cycle? Pump could be faulty or blocked, or the pcb could be at fault

Not sure if this helps - I could only locate the manual for SA683. These might be very generic manuals and you should get the information you are after.

OK I have just moved into an apartment with this model (SA 398 X/1) and was searching for a user guide (no luck yet).

Anyhow my apartment was owned by a bachelor and it looks as though he hardly used the oven so everything's still intact.

I'm in Australia and these numbers are in Celsius so I hope they work for you.

From top Right (starting at the 2 o'clock position) the four numbers going clockwise downwards are:

50
90
120
160

Then from the left side (starting at 7 o'clock position) going clockwise upwards:

200
230
250 - with dots arching above the 250

this can be water draining from your sink into the dishwasher via the drain pipe, assuming the drain pipe goes to a spigot on the sink trap.
take the drain hose up as high as possible in a swan neck to prevent this.
