Mother board bios update

My old socket 478 mother board stopped doing well. i bought a new ecs elite group MOBO -model 865GV-M3. but we discovered it does support my video card- radeon 9600, it only support up to 9500 series. i checked a bios update but its manual says it can only read 9500 series. thanks

From datasheet on Intel 82865GV: > The 82865GV does not support AGP. ECS use selfmade "AGP-express" port, which isn`t "real" AGP. It is answer that this motherboard need to support videoadapters by BIOS. Recommendation - do not use this motherboard (and other on i865GV chipset) with "external" graphic.

If your processor 2.4 Ghz HT you need socket 478 motherboard,System bus 800.without HT you need 533 FSB Motherboard.You can buy easily.Where you live? I do not know.China are available made 478 PIN mother board.

Installed Intel P4 630 CPU on ECS P4M800-M7 V3.1 mobo. Cannot do POST. The mobo runs fine with Intel Celeron 326 fine.

Hello Mafatbhai, What beeps are you getting at POST?
Here is a list of BIOS beep codes.

Well the mobo should not have any problems with the new CPU. Please ensure though that you have removed the CMOS battery to reset it. I have included a link to ECS for your specific board. Download and install all of the available updates starting with the drivers and then the BIOS updates.

How can I overclock 845gv-m3 motherboard?

according to ecs this is a 478 / fsb 500 ht mobo and cannot be overclocked (now most can be with a bios flash but be carfull the speed you get my not be worth it I find most only get 2-300 mghz & you chance ruining a good mobo).

Upgrade cpu

According to the product website your board supports all intel socket 478 cpu's. Maybe you bought a faulty cpu ?

Hi, I run a foxconn mobo myself and yes its a great board. But dont go to the foxconn site looking for downloads. instead go to the VIA site they make the chips and you will get more sense there. If all else fails Foxconn do have a "Contact us " link on their home page. This will give you the company email address and you could request directions to the update site there, the only trouble is it could take weeks to get a response. Regards mistyman
