Hi..
Having issues turning on the receiver with the remote. It just "clicks" for about 3-5 minutes, then gains power. Once it gains power, it seems to be OK, but I run EVERYTHING through my receiver (Sat, DVD, VCR {yeah I still have one}, XBox, etc.).
When it won't turn on, neither will anything else!!
Thanks for your help.
RE
Ours started doing this also now up to 20 min of clicking before it turns on. My thought is that it is a bad power supply since once its on it works fine.
mine also started doing this about 3 months ago..just the other day, it did this so long ,i attempted to cut it back off via switch but it wouldn't respond & just kept on clicking..I eventually had to unplug & replug several times before it became normal & afterwards worked just fine..I dread cutting it off though because I;m uncomfortable when this happens as I cut it on sometimes..This issue makes me feel as though something inside is about to seriously get damaged..mine also started doing this about 3 months ago..just the other day, it did this so long ,i attempted to cut it back off via switch but it wouldn't respond & just kept on clicking..I eventually had to unplug & replug several times before it became normal & afterwards worked just fine..I dread cutting it off though because I;m uncomfortable when this happens as I cut it on sometimes..This issue makes me feel as though something inside is about to seriously get damaged..

What's a rock speaker? All you will hear with one speaker on the Rear Right output is the Rear Right channel which is typically for effects and ambience. You DO have a manual, right?
Individual speakers commonly have different responses given the same amplifier input. Where you physically place a speaker once it's electrically connected is up to you. Speakers placed outdoors might not have the sound-re-enforcement of nearby or adjacent walls as indoor speakers do so they will sound weaker.
I got Yamaha RX-V3800 with intermittent power. Cause by capacitor C4 22nF 630V on the control power board. After replacing the capacitor, receiver again working OK!
discharge the output circuit! If you don't you will blow a 10 ohm resistor every time. I've worked on hundreds of these receivers I know. They need the output circuit soldered at the voltage driver ic's and quite possibly some capicitors replaced on the digital board. The caps mounted near the heat sinks dry up the fastest. These are nice amps. Larry's Electronics Sacramento Ca. [email protected]
thats the relay that ticks in but is not getting the signal across to the power so have a tech repair your set the problem is in the power supply the regulator is damaged.good luck.
Chances are it's the Large Electrolytic Capacitors in the power supply. As you have it on all functions. These are to filter out the 50/60HZ hum in the mains supply and so that's most likely what you are hearing!
you can find a remote replacenment at sony autorizad service center if they dont have it in stock they will order it for you the service manual is hard to get at this time try this number for parts
1-800-488-SONY (7669) good luck
You might have to go into the players setup and select the output and audio stream options. If it is set for PCM only it will not receive the Dolby or DTS signals if you selected them in the DVDs audio selection menu. There may also be a signal select in the Sony receiver to assign the digital inputs to selected units.
