I have W300i. model. I first downloaded songs in it. but when i gave it for servicing they erased it or probably removed the memory stick. because after servicing there are no songs and ringtones in it. and everytime i try to download it, it is not downloading. i have a doubt that the Shop has removed my memory stick and not put it again. I gave it to the authorised servicing centre in Pune. pl help to what i can do now.

I bought a W300i also, a barebones dealers unit. I am building it custom to my specs. The Disc2Phone software is available as a free download from Sony at the following link: http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=us&lc=en&ver=4000&template=ps1_1_3_3_1&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&esi=true&fid=10397&pid=10179 It has a variety of tools you may find useful. FYI: The Sony support documents and website indicate the phone will only support MicroSD cards up to 512MB. However, users report using up to 2GB cards with no problem. (If you want to store lots of music & photos.) Cheers. BJ

W300i phone displays white screen

Hi,

Try taking out the battery overnight and replace and try to turn on. If this doesn't help, then try updating your phone's firmware.

Alternative to disc2phone

I have a feeling the phone won't recognise M4a format, if it does though, you'll probably have to create a playlist and arrange the play order in iTunes. WMP info is recognised by most MP3 devices - it is a small file containing the details of the tracks' play order and such.

Down loading songs from my music on my computer using Disc2phone tomy W580i

Using Bluetooth with your PC is not the most reliable way. Use the USB cable provided with the phone. Even with the cable, Disc2phone doesn't seem to always work. I found it to take a long time to work and sometimes it didn't work at all.
Make sure you have the latest version of Disc2phone, download from:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/products/softwaredownloads/w580i?cc=us&lc=en

If you used the CD supplied with your phone to install Disc2phone it's probably out of date.

To Use Disc2Phone

To be honest, I find these programs a waste of the computer's resources. If you have Windows, you should have everything you need to copy music from your CD and place it directly on your phone.
Use Windows Media Player 10/11, select the "Rip" tab, click the arrow below it and hover "Format" > Mp3, "Bit Rate" > 128, "More Options..." then select your phone as the files' destination.

PS: It would be advisable not to leave your personal email address on forums, it's available for all to see and leaves you vulnerable to abuse.
