The problem is quite simple, ur NDS is getting old. My friend's NDS has the same problenm. You cant do anything, only thing u can do is to replace ur Touchscreen. There are some chinese websites which sell hose for about 15$. May u find hope there.
It sounds to me like you are having a problem with the video card on the motherboard, I am not familiar with this model but some you can remove the video card and upgrade, some you can not.if you can upgrade you can try this if you cannot remove the video card then a new motherboard will be required to fix this computer. you can look on ebay for a replacement at a reasonable price or talk to your local computer service center. hope this helps.
Most probably the multi color screen means te screen is broken. Both screens (top and bottom ) can be replaced, it takes a special tri-wing screw driver to open the DS, price of the screen to replace +/- € 20.
Yes, this can be fixed. You will need to replace the top LCD screen of the NDS, as the cable attaches directly to it. The speakers will need to be soldered to the new top LCD screen, as the top replacement screens usually do not come with speakers attached to it.
There are different quality screens arround, but the described problem has nothing to do with the quality of the screen and it looks like the resolution of the screen is not ok. The problem appears sometimes if the flatcable is put in to the connector and bend to much due to pressig it in this connector. I've seen that problem here sometimes. The screen is send to the customer in good order but is become defective due to incorrect manuals, missing warnings and customers that don't know what they are doing.
Try to contact te seller and ask him to replace the screen. Hopefully he wil do that.
Its possible though sometimes it is expensive so dont worth the work.
-Top screen broken: you can buy a replacement and carefully do the work by yourself with the help of a guide (youtube have many) and some tools (3 winding screwdriver is the less common though not much). The foil data ribbon can be bought separatelly for the original NDS though the new NDS lite have it soldered and very difficult to work.
-Broken plastics: a broken hinge means you need to buy a replacement shell. Anyway buy a complete shell from a DS modding shop or take parts from a non broken plastics DS (water damaged one may be good) in a place like ebay. You would be lucky if you find a non broken screens and good plastics DS for parts.
At the end you may be over your repair budget and not only that, you would be very near to buy a new unit with this money. Each one make its own choice.
think your right the screen probebly needs replacing. if you have problems fitting it or finding a new screen then just send it to these guys and they should be able to do it for you
