Re: how do i delete old music
Ok well usually the MP3 player will show up as a "Drive" in My Computer & as such one may cut, copy, & paste as usual within windows, so.. usually, ya right click the "Drive" and select explore.. then find the Music file(s) you wish, right click it, and select delete. To copy a file.. ya can simply cut & paste to the MP3 player.

you need 1.) the mp3 player 2.) the cable for the player 3.) a computer running windows xp or above
steps 1.) connect cable to both mp3 player and pc and wait for it to read 2.) click cancel 3.) click start then computer your mp3 player will show up here as a removable disc 4.) right click on it and click format (old music all gone now) 5.) copy and past your new music to it and your set..

If you just deleted the Music folder with all of the music files together, then you may want to recreate the Music folder. If it's already there, then you may want to reinstall the firmware software on the Sony Support Center.
The music that is on any mp3 player is a copy of what you have stored in the library of your computer music software so if you want to delete a song from your mp3 player you have to delete it on the computer then syncronise. This is the same if you want new music, you have to add to your library first. You cannot delete music using any of the controls on the actual mp3 player.
The "My Selections" playlist?
You have to delete the entire playlist.
Or do you just want to get rid of old music on it? It's a plug and play device (on XP at least) and you can delete what you don't want from there.
