I just purchased a '96 VW GTI that came with an aftermarket Clarion DC 625 CD changer. I do not know how to turn on the CD changer, it must be transmitted from a radio station, I'm guessing, but none of them seem to work. Is there a way to re-program it so I can select what station to connect it too? Or is there another way of engaging the changer that I'm unaware of? Please help
Hi this cd changer is actually connected via a cable to the source unit the cable is called a C-BUS I have attached a link to the manual which has some useful trouble shooting tips along with a full installation guide so you check that it is installed correctly, hope this helps

Well, I have just had the same problem with the same model.
I had a look inside and it turned out in my case that the din socket that connects the multichanger to the head unit had one pin that had failed, (the power 12V).
I had to go through every pin, one by one and found that the 12V was present on the lead coming from the head unit, but was not making its way to the board. It had failed within the socket surprisingly.
So I wired in a new, fused 12V feed to the circuit board, and hey presto, everything came back to life!
I thought I would just add this in case anyone ever searches for this problem in the future.
yas long as all the trays are still loaded in the cart/mag then you should be able to release it with a long flat peice of stiff card. push it under the cart/mag and kinda wiggle it this should trip the catch and pop out your mag
