Speakers not working

I have a pair of JBL white duet speakers that suddenly stopped playing in the middle of a song. Is it the AC adapter? That's the only thing I can think of. If so can I open it and fix it? If not where can I get a new one (JBL doesn't sell them)? Thanks for your time Pete

Mine are cutting in and out. I know it sounds like it's a short in one of my wires (it's strung with connecting wires about 40' from the computer), but I've tested all the connections and can't replicate the problem. It's just intermittent.

Any ideas? Time is of the essence, as Murphy's Law would have it. I have another gallery opening tomorrow night. BTW, these speakers run all day every day, but they are only 10 months old!
    Thanks!

If you have another computer or a friend, test them on his/her computer. Try this, as its fixed such a problem for me in the past. Start>All Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Volume Control Then check the ticked/unticked boxes

Where's the so to speak amp on jbl charge 3

The controls for the JBL Charge 3 are up top and you have volume up and down, Bluetooth pair, power, play/pause, and a button to link this device to other JBL speakers. There is no skip button, but if you hit the play button twice quickly it will skip to the next song

The speakers quit working/what do I do?

Make sure that it is the speakers that stopped working by unplugging them from your computer (or whatever you have them plugged into), and plugging headphones into the same jack that the speakers were plugged into.If the headphones work, you have confirmed that the problem is with the speakers. If the speakers use an AC adapter (black plastic cubical thing that plugs into the wall), then you might try getting a replacement AC adapter with the same output (AC or DC), voltage, polarity (which side is positive, and which is negative), and connector. If the speakers plugged into a USB port for power, your USB port may have turned itself off. In that case, reboot the computer to see if the USB port will turn back on.
If none of this works, you have to buy new speakers.

I am looking for a power cord for JBL on stage II speakers. Part no. 700-0042-001. Model no.TEAD-48-180800U

Hi,

The following power cords will work with your speakers

You can purchase the power cord from the following site if you are in the UK:

http://www.power-adapters.co.uk/jbl-7000042001-acdc-18v-power-supply-adapter-p-7165.html

You can purchase the power cord from eBay if you are in the US:

Hello, I have a pair of JBL Platinum Series speakers linked to my PC, which are just a few months old. They were working well, but they have stopped working. Although the green light comes on when I turn...

Hi Lauren This is the process of elimination which i would follow in a similar situation: -check cable going from computer to speakers, make sure both ends are plugged in correctly; -ensure sounds are not muted on your computer;
-try to play a song using another program such as windows media player. If this works, it's most likely the iplayer program which has been muted. -If none of this has helped, try plugging the speakers into a different device, such as a stereo headphones jack, ipod headphones jack, even a TV headphones jack. If the speakers still do not work, they are probably no good.
Hope this helps, Benji

I have a pair of JBL Duet speakers and 1 doesn't work unless the volume is maxed out on the other.

mcdevito75 here, Try to increase the volume from your keyboard, Then adjust the volume at the speakers, there should be only 1 volume control on 1 speaker to control them both, also check your connections at both speakers.

Just wondering what the power supply output JBL Media 3 Speakers

I have a pair of Media 3 JBL computer speakers. I am using a generic 12V DC adapter rated at 1000mA with a positive tip polarity, and it works fine.

Video upload....

well, the connector that comes from the 2nd speaker goes into the speaker port in the back of the first speaker.

The wierd cord possibly fits into the 12v dc slot in the back.. and the other end would go to a power adapter..

Seems you are missing a power adapter,, like you said earlyer.

Basically you would need a standard power adapter which fits into the speaker.

You could get some universal power adapter for it like
http://cgi.ebay.com/UNIVERSAL-DIGITAL-AC-ADAPTER-ADJUSTABLE-VOLTAGE-NEW_W0QQitemZ150275118131QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

Or

something to this direction
http://cgi.ebay.com/UNIVERSAL-AC-TO-DC-POWER-SUPPLY-ADAPTOR-ADAPTER-CHARGER_W0QQitemZ230275174536QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item230275174536&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318

If you want to make sure you get the right kind of power apdater
Try contacting jbl directly
http://www.jbl.com/home/product_support/JBL_contactus.aspx?ProdId=PLATINUM%20SERIES&ProdName=COMPAQ:%20Platinum%20Series

I was looking around ebay, found this
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-JBL-Platinum-Series-PC-Speakers_W0QQitemZ260266345340QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item260266345340&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318

Theres the power adapter in the middle, I think the odd cord goes to the back of the first speaker and the other end would go to a power adapter.. try contacting jbl they should be able to get you what you need.

Seems you have everything else you need except for the power adapter.
