in my printer brother mfc-7340 when i coping with machine after some time display will show print unable with error code 72 what i will do? plse tell me;
The paper jam you had probably lifted the long, thin, plastic encoder
strip out of its slot. It is making the printer think paper is still
jammed. Try gently pushing the strip back into the slot. You might
have to use a screwdriver or other thin instrument to get to the strip.
Be sure printer is off when you do this.
Hi,
I had this same problem and it is an easy fix. It is similar on all brother printers but mine was a 5860CN.
Lift the lid on your printer and at the back you can see the opening where the print head is.
With the power off, use your finger to move the print head into the middle.
Now feel under the lip of the cover at the front of the gap and you will
find a plastic strip that runs from one side to the other. This is the
encoding strip and it what the print head uses to read where it is. This
encoding strip is easily pushed out of position when a paper jam occurs
and all you need to do is to get it back into position. Using both
hands use a finger on either side of the print head and lift the encoding
strip upwards slightly and move slightly towards the back of the printer. This will
locate it back into the correct position in the print head when you
release. You can feel this with your fingers. Power back on and the problems will be gone!
Remember and be gentle so as not to damage the encoder strip!
It can be done, but all ink cartridge need to be in printer. The printer need all cartridges to initialized. When you start printing something click on Properties then find Advanced. There is a option Colour/Greyscale.Check on greyscale and it's done.

I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy
paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print
button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it
will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I
have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there
over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this
way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps.Bud
1. Take paper tray completely out of the machine.
2. Remove the rear cover, clean the paper pick-up roller.
3. Put rear cover back, put paper tray into machine.
4. Copy a blank page for paper feeding test.
I need a manuel, I'm trying to print a 4 x 6 picture and when I take out the regular 8 x 10 copy paper and want to put in the 4 x 6 picture paper I don't know where to put it. I can print a 4 x 6 on regular copy paper but thats not what I want.
