My yahoo messinger 09 won't let me display my image

I resently downloaded yahoo 9. Then on the yahoo messinger list i go up to my image display and wanting to display my image (not an avatar but one of my own image) and right clicked my gray square smilie dude. Then I chose choose a picture display and it when to the my pictures and i clicked ''browse...''. Then it went to chose a picture file and i choose a picture of taylor Swift (the problem happens on any picture i choose). Then I cliked open and the choose a picture file went away ( witch i sopost to happen)then the my pictures was still there and the picture i chose was there so i seleted that picture and clicked ok so it was sopost toshow up and for everyone to see, but instead a error report came up (yahoo was the only thing i had open) so i cliked don't send and yahoo closed and then when i open yahoo back up my picture still wasn't there so i did all the same things but that time i tryed to press press send error report but that still didn't do it then i tryed it different time of the week a nd that still didn't help i even tryed ternning off my whole computer but thatdidn't help eather! please help i'm only 12 and i have had nothing like this hap[pen to me! :(
