Hi when playing a dvd i can here all the trailers and then when the movie starts i can here everything what is going on in the background but not the main characters on the lcd screen it says CHPTRK this has only come on in the last few days and i dont know what it means or how to get rid of it hope you can help it is a LGDVD RECIEVER LH-T550 THANK YOU

Hi, I have a problem with sound on LG DVD model LH-W551. It has appeared CHPTRK there. It is definatelly contain with 5-channel movie.In taht case, I can not hear vois of person. Please, could you help me, how to correct it?Thank you very much!

Hi I have the same problem with an LG HT502 home cinema and it occured after a cut in the electricity. The service said it might be a software problem, I am trying to find out more at the moment.

Got now CHPTRK on a LH-T755TB. When I play a music CD the sound volume slowly goes down (as if SLEEP was activated, which isn't) to MIN.
Any idea how to get rid off it?

i have lg ht502 and when playing a dvd i can hear everything but the voice and i have tried everything i can think of but nothing works! does anybody know what the scoop is with this **** cos its getting abit over the top having to replace a unit for a stupid little problem!

The life of LG optical pick-up is Aprox.1000hours if it is more then 1000 hours used then just replace optical pick-up.

i would suggest turning off the system, disconneting it from the outlet and plugging it back in, the should reset the settings, please post with what you try to do.

SOURCE: resetting the progressive scan mode on an LG lh-d2645 home theatre system

the above is correct but you need to have the dvd player on with no disc in so "no disk" is shown on the front display. then hold down the stop button for 5 secs to reset the display mode back.

Usually most DVD's play movie trailers and sometimes advertisement before the movie will play. Once the ads or trailers are done it should go to the menu screen and at that point "play" or something like that should be underlined. If it is you can press play or select on the DVD player then the movie should start : )

hi,
select tv input on ur theater system. u can hear audio fro the frond left and right speakers. if u want to hear the audio from the surround speakers, then press the A-MODE button on ur remote to select different type of sound modes. press again and again to select different sound field. select one which suits u.

You can try cleaning it with a dvd disk cleaner first. If that dont work by a cheap dvd player and run it to the inputs on the back of the surround player.

How do I get my tv to play through the surround sound

If you have direct cable into the television, you will need to use an audio output if available on the back of your set into your HT system.

If you are using cable w/ a cable box you have two options. You can still connect everything directly into the TV then reroute the audio to the HT system... or, you could hook only video to the TV and audio from the cable box to the HT system. Really up to you.

1/ Turn power off for a while at powerpoint for as long as you want 5mins should be fine then turn on and try again.(which youve probably done already) as well as looking up your model number on the net to attain a info on your system.
Does the remote still work if so try to find unlock in menu/setting/functions but if it requires a digit code then youll need the manual as it could have an override built for cases such as yours.
start at jvc.com/dvd5.1 surround and find your model

Not playing voice but playing music/surround

sounds like you may have a dodgy scart lead.check that none of the pins are loose/damaged. Also check the sound settings on the tv, it may have reset itself to the default sound setting. Or it might just be the audio settings on your dvd player have been adjusted,almost all dvd movies have there own audio adjustments.

Movie freezes, skips.

Does sound like the laser. Realitically, not worth repairing. I'd say you'd be worth connecting a cheap DVD player to the system - then the Sony can carry on providing the surround sound audio and the new DVD player can provide the video. Then, if the cheap DVD player is still going, it can move to a bedroom TV if and when you replace the surround system....

Otherwise, I would imaging the speaker set (and even the non-working DVD player) on its own might fetch a reasonable price on an auction site - anyone who has a stolen DVD unit will probably be desparate for the speakers as Sony don't sell them separately!

LG HT502 won't play iPod I have an LG HT502 DVD Receiver with no user manual. The receiver has a label that says it can take input and playback from an iPod and there is an input on the front of the HT502. However, when I plug my iPod in, it does not play and there is no button for a personal Mp3 player on the remote, which has only Band, DVD, Aux and USB - no iPod button. Anyone out there have an idea on how one can use an iPod with this LG HT502, other than outputting to Auxiliary? Thanks for any help.
